Visited Grand Cru restaurant in May 2023. This is one of Michelin recommended restaurants in Prague. I chose daily lunch menu. Tasting menu, a la cart choices were also available. It was one of the best meals I had in Prague, with great service and...atmosphere. Highly recommended.More
I have repeatedly dined at this restaurant, which I especially like because of its location and interior. However, my dinner tonight did not meet my expectations. Tasteless dish. Sea bass with two ridiculously small portions of fish and a side dish with almost crispy vegetables...- it was a catostrophe for me. I arrived an hour before closing time and really felt that I was not welcome, why take late orders.More
An exceptional meal & wonderful experience. The amuse bouche included homemade bread rolls with flavoured butter. We had starters of asparagus soup, beef tartare, and scallops which were full of flavour. All five of us had pasta with morel mushrooms which was divine. Best of...all were the desserts: pistachio cheesecake and a chocolate mouse with pear. The setting is elegant. The staff are very friendly. The ambiance is excellent.More
Wonderful meal! Everything was delicious and the restaurant is very charming. Great service and wine selection. You won’t be disappointed.
We chose the Grand Cru for a special occasion while visiting Prague for a long weekend and weren't disappointed. Everything was perfect! The restaurant is located in a quiet corner away from the buzzing Old Town, is beautifully decorated, and has a great selection of...wines. We chose a Czech red wine, which was really good. The service was spotless, and everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food was the best I have tasted in a long time; it didn't disappoint. We had three courses, and everything was well presented and well proportioned. My favourite was the beef tartar, which was simply delicious. If you are visiting Prague and looking for a gastronomic experience at a fair price (compared to London), I highly recommend it.More
I went with my wife on April 17th to enjoy a five-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The restaurant was small to medium-sized and idyllic. The taste of the food was excellent and the wines also paired well with the dishes. However, there were occasionally...long gaps between the courses. One area for improvement, in our opinion, was with the wine pairing: typically, a dessert wine has been included in the package, but this time it was not.More
Michelin Star 2022 restaurant, no standards have slipped since. Beautiful food and wine. The wine pairing with any course you may choose is a great option. Staff know their stuff and are very friendly. Plenty of added bonus’s such as bread with lovely flavored butter’s...Definitely worth it if you’re looking to splash abit of cash with some fine dining.More
We had the tasting menu (1590 CZK) with the wine pairing (990 CZK). All dishes were very good. The deer was not only good, it was excellent, one of the best I ever had. The wines were good and sometimes it received not only one...glass but an additonal glass without additional cost. The menu with wine parinig is a very good price value relation! Fully recommendable!More
Superbly tasting food and wine. We have four starters and four main courses as well as deserts and they were all absolutely excellent. This restaurant is a definite must-go if you are in Prague.
Overall this was a really great meal and a lovely way to spend our first evening in Prague. The service was very good, albeit perhaps lacking ever so slightly on friendliness; when I asked for tap water the waiter appeared quite shocked and insisted they...only served bottled water. Strange when the tap water in Prague is actually very nice. We were not ordering this to be tight fisted (we ordered champagne and red wine too) - we simply wanted it because we enjoy the taste. But never mind. This was a minor point and the food overall was of a really great standard. The amuse bouche and bread and butter outstanding in their own right. The scallop starter exceptional. The lamb main delicious albeit disappointing on the very small size of the lamb racks. We wished for 2 or 3 times the amount of meat on the plate! The cheesecake desert very good, the plum dumplings less enjoyable. I would say overall 4.5/5; most of the food and flavours were fantastic!More
My husband and I visited this evening for a nice meal on our final evening in Prague. We've experienced some excellent service during our time here but the service received at Grand Cru was impeccable. From our greeting at the door, to every interaction with...staff from taking our orders, bringing out our courses, everything was fantastic. A special mention goes to Dimitry who was so attentive and knowledgeable. He provided a very personal service and made our evening all the more enjoyable. When I chose a white wine, instead of a red, when I was ordering steak, he didn't quibble but instead, once I'd finished, asked me how it was as a pairing. A small thing yet made an impression. The food was exquisite, so tasty and we were so sad when our plates were empty. Even in between courses, the staff are checking in to make sure you have full glasses and even in between course appetisers. The atmosphere is very relaxed and lovely. Should we ever return to Prague we will absolutely be paying another visit to Grand Cru. 10/10 experience, highly recommend.More
We had an incredibly meal at Grand Cru celebrating my girlfriends birthday. The evening was made so, so special - so a huge thank you to those who worked on Saturday 18th Feb 2023. On arrival, I was late! I had booked in UK time...(1 hour behind!). Thankfully the restaurant kept our table - and I’m so glad they did. They wouldn’t accept my apology, though it was clearly my fault. Instead they were incredible positive that I had arrived, regardless of time. There is an incredibly extensive wine menu, and different dining menus to choose from. We ordered a bottle of Czech white - not something we’d usually drink, but when I’m Prague! It was lovely and served extremely well. We received an amuse-bouche and some breads with homemade basil butter and saffron butter. Wow. Both excellent. To start, I had beef tartare. Tartare is offered in most places in Prague, but I had saved myself to have it here - knowing it’d likely be the best considering the calibre of restaurant. It was my first time trying. Very filling and probably too big of a portion, though that was not something to complain about as it was incredible. My girlfriend had the scallops - also fantastic. Mains I had the fish of the day. It was cooked to perfection. My other hand had the lobster - she’d craved it since we bumped into the restaurant the day before just wandering around. It didn’t disappoint and was fantastic. We received a pre-pudding/palate cleanser which was really tasty too. Pudding - I had the pistachio cheesecake. I’ve never seen a pistachio cheesecake on a menu before - why!? It was so tasty! Kerry had a valentines special, which was made even more special when it came with a ‘happy birthday’ message on it. I genuinely could not fault it. Service, food, drink. I would 100% go back. It was reasonable expensive, but I always knew it would be. The quality of the food, combined with the service made it all worth the money. Thank you so, so much for making our evening extremely special.More
Absolutely amazing restaurant in all ways: friendly staff, delicious and unique food, presentation, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Love it!!! I usually don’t write reviews, but this restaurant brings so much joy that I had to share with people about it.
Fabulous evening spent with amazing food and wine! Having had the pleasure of experiencing a few taster menus this was definitely up there with some of the best! Service was attentive and the young man was very knowledgeable. Only slight negative was we were there...on the evening of my husbands 50th birthday and although I did say in the booking there was no mention or 'extra' touch. At the end of the meal a large group arrived and we did feel like the service was somewhat directed towards them and no extra drinks were offered. Having said that we appreciated the service we had and would wholeheartedly recommend.More
