First we didn’t plan on eating there. We passed in front of this restaurant randomly but the atmosphere felt so right that we decided to stop by. The terrace is very charmy, cosy and comfortable. The staff was adorable and very friendly. They were always here when we needed something. Their recommandations were helpful to choose what we wanted to eat. choices were hard to make when there’s just the right number of tasty courses. The courses were incredibly awesome! We even came back the following day!!!! The ingredients were very fresh even the row ones. If back in the city we know where to eat!!!!

The best bistro in Prague serving excellent breakfast and lunches. I opted for Potatoes cooked in ash with cured egg, local ham and brown hollandaise-something that I have never had and was one of the best brunch meals I have ever eaten. My wife went for there take on Caesar salad which was visual exceptional and tasted even better. In all by far the best small independent bistro in Prague with exceptional and knowledgeable staff and priced sensibly. The dining room and fixture fittings are also lovely and not forgetting our little French Pig was allowed in (it’s dog friendly) Defo be back if we are in Prague

We noticed this place when walking by on our first day in Prague, and saw a queue of people waiting for a table – and after visiting, we could see why. It took around 15-20 minutes until we could be seated, but it was worth the wait. The brunch menu is fairly small, but the food was really nicely cooked and served quite quickly after ordering. Really friendly and attentive waiter who was more than happy to accommodate specific requests, which was much appreciated. A little more expensive than your average cafe in Prague, but it's a cut above the usual. If you're looking to go out for brunch this is the place to be.

I received a cappuccino with a long hair inside of it. I asked for a new one because of the hair as it is in my opinion disgusting and should not be found in any restaurant’s food. Of course, this at times does happen. In this case restaurants usually give a new item without any issues and apologize for the inconvenience. Not here. The waitress put the hairy cappuccino in the bill and when I asked about it she said it was not their fault I did not want to drink it. Don’t go here unless you want to pay for hairy drinks and bad service.

So glad we found this place. Off a small street near old town. Small and cozy. Tried the avocado toast, eggs Florentine, eggs benedict, hummus bowl, and the pancake. Everything was excellent. You can get marinated salmon on almost anything. Eggs Florentine was basically Benedict on croissant. I think I liked the Florentine just a tad better. Avocado toast was delicious. The beet spread really makes it special. The pancake was awesome!! If you only order one dish I would do the pancake. The fresh mint tea was so good. The cafe latte was also really good. Really haven’t had bad coffee anywhere in Vienna, Budapest, or Prague yet. Service was friendly and quick.

The food and service was fine. A bit pricey but worthy. Still has the Czech mentality though. paid almost 1000kc for breakfast and they refused a standard glass of tap water...the staff panics, we can't do that. They charged for water. The place is certainly good but you do have to queue for breakfast. There is a place nearby called Venue that I found more suitably priced, they didn't question or charge for water-just as tasty, same quality food and proper service.

Best breakfast/brunch we had while in Europe for a month. Fantastic pancakes, and loved the combo of the avocado toast with the poached eggs and hollandaise! Drinks were great as well. They have a lovely courtyard/garden area that I wish we had the time to eat at, but they were super flexible and prepared our food our quickly to go when we were out of time and needed to catch a tour. A great spot in the middle of town while feeling away from it all.

Spotted this place in our wanderings during our first day in Prague. Two days later, decided to come for a late lunch. It’s a small menu for a meal outside of breakfast, which could be their focus since the breakfast offerings were more plentiful. Nevertheless, the choices made by our group of three were delicious. Service was attentive and very quick. The bistro has tables inside and alfresco and has a lovely chilled ambience. Totally recommend!

Everything was phenomenal over there. Breakfast - generous and super tasty. Waiters - friendly, helpful, and smiling. Mint tea is made from mint leaves served in a brewer (enough for two cups). It's a must-have place to visit if you're in Prague and you want to eat breakfast!

My wife and I visited Prague for four days. Our Air B&B was just off of the old town square. As always my wife loves to pre plan events and eateries based on good reviews. Of all our experiences in Prague, (and there were many good ones) nothing was as good as our early morning breakfasts at Monk Bistro. This is a long and narrow bistro with a cozy feel. If you come later it fills up fast. The service is friendly and attentive. Katerina is the best server in Prague! She patiently helped me with my Czech pronunciation and even told me the story behind the Bistro name and painted murals on the wall. (Katerina is the monk holding the cake). The ambiance was warm and friendly. I had the loaded Eggs Benedict, one of the best I’ve ever had. I also had the blueberry pancakes. They are not like American pancakes. The cake is fluffy and slightly sweet and drenched in their own bluberry sauce with whip cream - no syrup necessary. My wife had the fruit and granola bowl every day. The coffee was wonderful as were the mimosas and the hand squeezed orange juice (lots of pulp). Even the bathrooms where perfectly clean. We had other places pre scheduled to try but early mornings at the Monk Bistro were so good we just kept coming back. Please don’t miss this gem of a place in Prague!

Very nice bistro in Prague Old City. You can enjoy delicious and beautiful food, great coffee and as well drinks while sitting in the nice, bright interior or relax outside in their lovely garden, which is full of flower. Great to have a meal with friends or just relax with book. Everything made from scratch in the kitchen of Monk, including all the bread and cakes!

I was pretty fast done with my breakfast which maid the waitress think that she might ask me only two minutes after I paid if I could leave so they’ll have my table free again for the next guests. I continued googling for my next thing to do on my vacation when only after 5 more minutes an other waiter showed up asking me if I want to go. 14% Tip seemed to be too little for being allowed to enjoy a stay.

Hello Martin, we are really sorry that you understand it this way. We had a long queue and as you had the only one of our 3 big tables from our whole bistro ( containing of 8 tables in total ) we hoped you might understand. After 15 minutes we asked how are you, because we had a family with 5 year old girl waiting for your table for about 30 minutes. They asked us if we could ask you how long it might take, so they could decide if they can wait more in the weather they waited or go. The third time they asked us, we promised them we ask you politely on the estimated time. And unfortunately we thought you might understand it, but instead of it, you took it personally. It’s not about the tip, we are very thankful for it, but if see a family with kid, we try to accomodate them. Hopefully this would be a good explanation for this situation which occured and trust us, we don’t want to leave our guests unhappy. When it happens, we try to solve it efficiently. Hopefully next time will be better :( Have a great day

Friendly stuff and good prices, considering that's in the center of Prague. I'm a celiac and they gave me plenty of gluten free options to chose from, and I loved the combo of the avocado toast with the poached eggs, hollandaise and salmon! The quinoa bowl was great, too. A great experience and a nice place to eat in a not so gluten free and vegetarian-friendly city!

Dope brunch in the city centre. The service was really good and attentive. The place is cozy but lacks a bit of sunlight at the end. The food is very good and offers a unusaly wide range of options. We had the Avo-Toast and the Monk Bowl and both were really good, but maybe a bit more higher priced than what the size of the portion was so the big fellas out there might not be fully satisfied with it. But the taste makes up for it I would argue. The price is high but thats normal for the good brunch spots in Prague. Therefore, I would definetly come back and recommend it to everyone! However, make sure to come early since it is well known and has a good reputation for obvious reasons.

Excellent brunch spot located within walking distance to the astronomical clock! The restaurant is located on a charming cobblestone street. It is very beautiful and relatively quiet considering how popular of a place it is. They use all fresh ingredients and offer vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon and my friend got avocado toast with mushrooms. The cappuccino was delicious and cucumber mimosas started our day off with a bang. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is a top brunch place in Prague.
