We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely excellent. Can't sing the praises of this chef enough, and for such a reasonable price. Service, etc. all great too. A really great meal with a huge range of flavours.

We wanted to have a good meal for a birthday whilst on a weeks visit. Very smart and relaxing with friendly staff prepared to discuss what is required. The price may be a little more than general Prague restaurants but compared to England it is...still very good value. Good selection of dishes with choices including traditional Czech dishes. The food may not be as adventurous as some places like to be but the tasting menu was very good and we had an excellent evening. Lots of small cafes and restaurants in this area of Prague and this is probably the best. Definitely visit if you are staying in this area.More

We were there with 2 kids and the kids wanted fish. They did not bother recommending one fish for them, neither what size was the fish. We ended up paying 30euro per fish and had the leave almost one full fish in the plate. The...service was very slow, even if there were almost no people in the restaurant. We waited 45+ minutes for food. Very bad, never again.More

Although a bit expensive it is worth the visit for the quality and the type of food, completely different to what you can normally find in Prague. I had the tasting menu which was 6 courses for 895 kc (more than enough for one person)....They have a very nice and quite terrace in the back. The service is nice and polite. Definitely going back.More

So, we have been here before, and have always been pleased with the food and service. Quite pricey, but worth it. Yesterday, we walked in, and we're bugged three times about ordering an aperitif before we even open the menu. The restaurant was empty, 6.30...pm. There were no vegetarian options at all. I asked about the mussels, and was told they were off that evening. I ordered salad nicoise, my wife the quail, a beer for me and white wine for the lady. Both beer and wine tasty. Salad good, nice poached egg on top. Quail came as a sort of sausage filled with a foamy stuffing. Contained a bone. My wife was not impressed. As we were eating, another table filled up next to us. They were told the mussels were on the menu. (in Czech. But I do speak Czech) Took ages to get a member of the wait staff to ask for the bill, and an equal age to get them to take the money away.More

This is a little hidden gem of the Prague food scene. Fairly priced high end european restaurant. One of the best value for money places in Prague. Best Nicoise salad I have ever had, great steaks, soups. Pretty much everything over here is great.

Food is always very good, service is always just ok. But usually not bad enough to ruin a date night if the proper wine is selected.

We visited with 2 local friends who knew the restaurant well. I was determined to eat 'local' and ideally a dish with dumplings of some type and managed to find both a main (venison) and a desert (cherry stuffed dumpling) that were local specialities. The...desert was indeed pretty unique ... and tasty! Deer likewise. Mains don't come with veg, just the principle ingredient - by far the best side ordered was the smoked mashed potato ... makes me drool just to think of it! We had good Moldavian wines with the food and all in all the meal was pretty perfect. We ate after 3pm and were the only folk there at that hour so can't speak for how well it copes when busy... Highly recommend this place to both locals and visitors. Cost-wise, nowhere in Prague is pricey when used to Euros or GBP prices in other capital cities! Good value for the food even in local CzK.More

This was not our first time at Argument, but we thought we would give it another go. We started with an aperitif. When I received my gin and tonic, it was filled with cucumbers. Not what I wanted. So I sent it back. It was...returned but with the clear taste of cucumbers. They had only scooped them out. The first big minus. My partner ordered the tasting menu - which would prove to be too much food, but the price was good. I ordered three courses. The food was very good. It was creative and had very good use of spices. Why everyone else received an amuse bouche but we did not, however, is a question. We ordered a baguette which never came. And we ordered a second round of drinks, we took over 20 minutes to arrive. The food is excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked and the gratinated artichokes were wonderful. My partner really enjoyed his courses. For both of us, the desserts were great, even though we waited a long time for them. The payment was sheer theater. There were two mistakes on our bill, charging us for things that we didn't have. Small amounts, but we wanted it fixed. From when they brought us the bill until we finally paid, it was 25 minutes. A real "thud" at the end of a lovely meal. The service was polite and friendly, but needs some improvement. The overall cost was higher than some very good restaurants in Prague. I would recommend this is you are in the neighborhood, but I think with some better training and attention to detail, with cooks like this in their kitchen, this could be a much better restaurant.More

Delicious food, excellent prices. Well-done, not pretentious, tasteful. My husband joked that, dollar for dollar, it was better than the French Laundry - which was over 1K a head - and I had to agree (that place is overrated, FYI). We had the degustation menu....Both of us are self-described foodies and between us we tried all 12 offerings on the menu. Everything was very good to excellent. Washed it down with a couple types of Czech wine. The service was the best we've had thus far in Prague. Didn't seem like a touristy place - full of locals. We'll be back, with friends.More

Had a very nice evening at the restaurant. Staff spoke very good English. The food and wine were beautiful. Good quality, full of flavour. Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Toilets were clean and lovely, even had hair products in for you to use. Very close...to a metro stop and so easy to get to.More
