We just stumbled across this place mid afternoon headed back to our hotel and loved it so much we went back for dinner that night and lunch the next day. The salad Chèvre was the best salad I've ever had. This place is a must!

We came here as it was raining, the wine was nice and place also, but it was more expensive than we would pay in france.

We sat here for lunch. We had two salads, nicoise and the ceasar; nothing fancy, just good simple salads. We took the housewine, which was too sour for our taste. Afterwards we took a french cheeseplate with French bread. Easy, simple but good. The Chardonnay...More

Staying there just for a lunch with my friend, the stay was really pleasant. Helpful personnel, good beer and nice choice from the menu. Seems like a great place for a glass of wine or beer, can recommend.

We stopped in for dinner and had a wonderful time. The food is excellent and the atmosphere was very Hungarian. The waitress was very helpful and informative about the food.

This place is wonderful!! The wait staff speak perfect English & French. We shared the French cheese collection and it was so good! They come on a large wooden turntable board. They were very tasty, including the fruit, nuts and jam. I had the Camembert...More

Chez Marcel is a typical French bistro located about 5 minutes from the busy Town Square. The food is excellent, although the menu choice is limited. We chose a meat platter and a cheese platter for a lunchtime snack both with generous helpings. It is...More

After an overpriced tourist trap meal in a restaurant near the Old Town Square, it was a delight to find this restaurant on a small, quiet street. The food was excellent, the prices were fair and the service was courteous and helpful. A small mistake...More

We stumbled upon Chez Marcel when walking from our Hotel, the Clarion, to the old city. It is not far from St. Agnes convent. I ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon, which was one of the best versions of the dish I have ever eaten in a...More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the
medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is
bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický
square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle
in the background, is probably the most beautiful
square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere
of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and
squares, and stone towers blend together with the

I always pay in the local currency to get the best prices. Restaurants generally operate with a vey poor exchange rate. In Europe, most restaurants charge a "Service Fee" for credit card use.

Authentic French restaurant opened since 1995. You can find all the French classics here - escargots, duck confit, entrecote with Cafe de Paris sauce, moules & frites and many others. Good selection of French wines including very affordable Bordeaux house wine sold under the Chez Marcel label. Very laid back atmosphere with a nice mix of regular locals, expats and some tourists who happened to wonder into this yet un-discovered area just a few minutes away from the Old Town Square.
