SOVA is a family-run restaurant of modern cuisine with elements of traditional Czech dishes. Here you may taste Smoked carp salad served with real wood smoke, Veal cheeks stewed in red wine with crumbled potatoes and “brushwood” made from celery, Signature dark beer sorbet with buckwheat mousse and much more! We just want you to eat tasty food made from fresh high-quality products any day of a week and any time of the day. We're not a "fine-dining" restaurant, so you don't need to choose some special date and put on your best clothes to visit us. But, of course, we will be happy to share with you your special date, whether it's a birthday, anniversary or any other important day in your life.

We were a family of three generations travelling from Australia, With seven of us in total I contacted Sova via email a couple of weeks in advance to make a booking and they very kindly asked us to pre order our meals before arrival to ensure the evening would run smoothly. From the first email to our payment of the bill the service was excellent. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed our three course meal and the food whilst traditional had a wonderful modern twist. The wine menu is extensive and the service was nothing short of excellent. Please take the uber or taxi ride and get out of the touristy restaurants for a lovely night out. Thank you to the team at Sova for making our first night in Prague a truly memorable one.

Excellent meal and good value for money. Wide choice for non meat eaters - I had a cheese selection as a starter which came with fig preserve but some bread to accompany it would be good. My partner enjoyed her pumpkin soup. Mains were duck breast, and for me a very good trout with carrot-ginger purée lentils and glazed rhubarb. A yummy chocolate fondant ended a good meal. It came to 1200 crown (£40) for two with beers and a tip

We have just had the most amazing meal here goulash soup and beef tartare really tasty, then veal cheeks and pork neck as tender as anything. The beer ice cream is really delicious and they were happy for me to have the Czech cheeses as a dessert.
£60 for two of us with beer is amazingly good value for such good quality food in a really nicely designed restaurant with outstanding service.
It is a little out of the way but well worth the journey and we really enjoyed the walk up Wenceslas Square and the museum is beautiful lit up in the evening

We've enjoyed our evening at the SOVA very much. It began with the owner presenting us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine because we celebrated a birthday. The staff was relaxed and attentive, friendly and quick.
We enjoyed the food, too. We have to deduct one point because the beef tartare meal was too salty for our taste. The tartare was seasoned with salt and capers and the bread seemed to have been salted as well. That was a tad too much. Contrary to that we felt the sauce for the veil was missing a bit of seasoning.
We enjoyed the duck and the snails, however. We left the place with a good feeling and recommend to go there.

I spent a considerable amount of time looking through trip advisor for the perfect restaurant for our trip in Prague. Sova was where I picked and it was more than what I had wanted.
The food was incredible. I booked for myself and my husband as a surprise and he absolutely loved it! They even played some Motown music which is his favourite!!
We had a starter, main and desert which were all divine. The food had so many flavours, we were blown away. To top it off the bill at the end was such good value for money, we would of happily paid double!
Thank you to everyone at Sova. We will return to Prague and will definitely return to your incredible restaurant.

I was surprised it was so quiet following the reviews but I also went t 6 so I guess it was still early. Was very happy with my food, starter, main , dessert, a glass of wine and a bottle of water and it was still only 1100K or 52 USD. Well worth every penny

Great restaurant all around, very pleased with service and the food is one of the best i ever tried. I had a duck breast, which came with a delicious sauce, there was also additional black current sauce on a side. The meat was well cooked, soft and juicy. My sister had smoked carp salad which was served under a lid and was submerged in smoke, the lid was then removed and the smoke revealed the dish. She was very happy with it too. For desert i had "Pear", beautifuly presented pear rogue surrounded by panna cotta and all of that is in a thin layer ofyellow chocolate, in a form of pear. A lot of value for a very affordable price. I will be happy to come back and try out more dishes.

In my opinion, this is the yummiest place among the restaurants I ate in Prague.
The quality of the products is top-notch and the flavor is extraordinary.
Both main dishes (veal cheeks & pork belly) were extremely delicious. The decoration of the place with the stoned walls and the heavy carpets makes you feel so cozy and welcome … and comfortable … and warm. This is an exceptional atmosphere to relax and enjoy this unrealistically nice meal.
This was an interesting, yet amazing dinner experience. Most important of all, the personnel were so polite and friendly. Moreover, they even treated us at the end with homemade black currant shots.
PS: My yummy dark beer ice cream had a twist, since it was made out of molecular gastronomy.

It was a wonderful evening from the way we were greeted to the wonderful desserts.
We were met by a pleasant man and seated , then two beautiful girls served us during the evening by explaining us everything that was on our plates. The atmosphere was great, every table was taken.
For a starter we took Czech snails and roast beef. We took the duck breast for the main ones - wonderful roasting and compositions with sauces, and the veal cheeks were insanely soft and the combination with mashed potatoes is excellent.
We finished our evening with chocolate fondant and dessert of the day! It was amazing - highly recommended!
p.s. Look at this beautiful Christmas tree at the entrance, it is magical!
Thank you for being the most beautiful restaurant we visited in Prague.

Nice enough restaurant with well prepared, good looking dishes. However portions were small and not just for myself could have done with sides e.g. potatoes which surprisingly for Prague didn't seem to be on offer. The fish dish, Zander was good.
Again desserts looked good but the panna cotta had too much gelatin (no wobble), to be fair was not charged for.
Quite pricey and service a little slow so left a little disappointed, given the number of high reviews.

If you're tired of traditional Czech dishes like knedlíky and koleno and you want to try a modern take on Czech cuisine, I highly recommend visiting the SOVA restaurant. It's a cozy family establishment with a pleasant staff and incredibly delicious food. They use local ingredients (Czech cheeses and snails 🤩), have original presentation, serve tasty cocktails (we had the Moscow Mule, Lemon Pie, and Sicilian Sour), and have gluten-free options. I will definitely come back!

Absolutely delicious food. We were a table of 4, the duck was the best we have ever tasted. One carp was lovely. We even decided to have pudding of the pear and fondant. The pear with lettuce covered in White chocolate was so different.
So affordable and service was lovely.

Arrived in Prague from the U.S. at 5 pm and was relaxed and delighted at 7:30 pm by this charming restaurant. The owner is very friendly, and he and his attentive staff speak English well. We had the duck breast and the pork belly - both delicious and beautifully presented. The pork was prepared in a beer based sauce and the duck was served with the most interesting berry sauce. Foodies will appreciate the lightly grilled cabbage accompanying the duck too. The evening was capped by the owner bringing out currant cordial he makes based on his grandmother’s recipe. Lovely!

Great Place! Placing a Reservation with open table worked out well. Service was great, the food fantastic. We had duck pate, pork neck and pork belly. All of it tasted great and represented traditional dishes with a twist. Another highlight was the dark beer ice cream with which was served with hydrogen frozen vanilla sauce.

SOVA is a Prague restaurant my wife and I tried for the first time and will now be chosen on each visit. From arrival to departure all the staff are wonderful - very friendly, professional and not pompous. The food was outstanding. The snails were a complete eye-opener. They are different sizes, hence sold by weight, and the method of cooking/presentation different to any we have had before. You actually taste the snail not just the garlic butter with a chewy centre! Without doubt they were the best we have ever tasted in any country. My wife loved her duck and the Zander was a wonderful alternative to the (farmed) sea bass found now on every menu. A short wine list is properly priced and saves you from guessing what to go for. Beer ice cream and 'Granny's' marc to finish were perfect. Young or old, do book and go to SOVA.
