We ate lunch here today during our first day in Prague and it was gorgeous.
The restaurant is very well located at a few minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and the churches.
We absolutely love the interior of the restaurant itself with the roaring wood fire and hanging filament lights and brushed copper bar.
Such lovely arched ceilings and a really warm feel.
We each took the menu, which was a choice of soup, a choice of goulash and plum cake for 195 crowns a piece which works out at roughly ÂŁ7.
The portions were very generous, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Service second to none.
There are three beers to choose from including a Kozel dark beer which was tasty and refreshing. Would definitely return on our next visit to the city.

I wanted to try this restaurant after seeing its great reviews online. Since it's located near the Prague Castle, it was a perfect occasion to give it a try after a morning visit of the castle.
First to fall, the service was amazing! We were warmly welcomed by the owner's wife who was our waitress for our lunch. She was very kind and sweet, we got a chance to talk a little bit and she was very attentive.
The food was great. I really recommend the kulajda soup (a czech specialty) which I loved. I was recommended a honey-layer-cake (apparently another czech specialty) which was delicious and unlike anything I've ever had before.
The restaurant is charming, cosy, with a fireplace. The establishment is new, well-maintained, clean and nicely decorated.
There’s really nothing negative I could say about this restaurant. I had a great time at u tri jelinku and would love to pay another visit! Thank you!

For our anniversary we have came to Prague and whilst on our walking tour found U Tri Jelinku by pure chance. The Christmas December night was cold and the restraunt was warm and inviting with the freindliest of smiles and welcome. We were seated and given Ă Ă©lectronique tablet menu that allows you to zoom and see your choice. We started with prossecco and Ă laphroig whiskey while we waited on our starters (quick timing !). I had a traditional czech mushroom soup with poached egg, my love had flatbread with shredded duck and onion and cranberry sauce. For mains my love chose the deer in juniper sauce with mushroom rage, while I chose the rolled Park with mushroom sauce and roast potatoes . Dessert was the traditionnelle honest cake with coffees .
All in 1411.00 k and well worth it

We went in with a large group (12 or so people) and they immediately found us a table and were able to serve us. The food was amazing, though the vegetarian options were a bit too slim for our one veg friend. All in all, I was very impressed with the speed and the quality of the food. It was also very affordable for our group of university students. One of the cheapest meals we ate in Prague, and yet one of the tastiest.

After a full morning walking in the freezing cold we stumbled across this little bistro to allow ourselves to warm up and feed the kids.
We are so happy we did!
The service was great and the food, alcohol and overall value was unbeatable.
We ended up staying for hours because we enjoyed it so much, and came back a few days later to try some of the other items on the menu.
Everything was delicious, and this place is highly highly recommended.

I truly enjoyed our meal at U Třà jelĂnkĹŻ. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was romantic and the food was just magical. My partner had the beef goulash in a bread bowl and I had the Czech roast duck... both were simply delicious!
We also started with the soups, and again, both were just perfect (their traditional creamy mushroom soup was splendid).
Would definitely visit again when I return to Prague!

We stayed over the bridge between the old and new town so it was a 25 min walk to the restaurant. We were so glad we decided to go there. Requested a booking in the late afternoon for that evening and we pleased to receive a quick response confirming the availability. Staff were friendly and welcoming, having come out of the cold weather to a glass of Czech beer and sat next to the log fire was amazing. Beef goulash with pancakes was delicious, meat melts in your mouth. Pork knuckle was also really good. Prices are very reasonable.

Fabulous atmosphere, lovely staff and decent sized plates of traditional Czech cuisine, we would highly recommend the pork knuckle and the roast duck, in fact the duck would win over and over, it’s delicious. Good selection of wine and beer to go with the food. We loved it so much we went back a second time, we would highly recommend this wonderful place! Also, you need to book for evening meals, sometimes they can squeeze you in but they turned a lot of walk-ins away (just shows how good this place is).

We chose this place quite randomly, but the outcome was amazing.
The atmosphere inside was relaxing and romantic, the waiters were polite, the food was amazing (we ordered sous-vide deer leg steak and honey cake caramel) and the price was really good.
We will be back for sure!

Food left mixed impression (pork steak and pumpkin soup were okay, but the Caesar wasn’t good at all) but staff’s attitude towards visitors’ belongings was bad. We had forgotten an antiseptic flask and when we came back for it the next day, staff member said they just have put it in the trash. C’mon, keeping forgotten things for at least a day or two is simply good manners. Well, it seems if you accidentally forget your keys, sunglasses or AirPods there, they might do the same thing with no second thought.

We stayed in Prag for 4 days and had lunch and dinner in 8 different restaurants of all prices classes.
This one was by far the one with the beste selection ranging from all time international classics to Czech kitchen.
We had 6 different Dishes here.
Each was very tasty.
Also great and very friendly service, too.
Didnt drink and eat that much and tasty for such a more then fair price in a long time.
Can defintly recommand this resturant to every Prague visitor!
Only bad thing was that we discovered this returant just at our last night in Prague. To bad! :)

Beautiful quiet restaurant in the Old Town near the Holy Trinity monument. Food absolutely amazing from presentation to taste. The Pork knuckle was absolutely huge but as we shared a starter of Camembert wrapped in bacon there was enough room for us to finish off the knuckle together. I had the traditional beef goulash with potato pancakes which were also amazing. Service excellent and price was very reasonable turning out at 1400 ck (ÂŁ51.42) for a starter, two mains, 2 Pilsner and two glasses off Riesling white wine. A definite must visit for any tourist in Prague and a definite return for us.

First night in Prague and wanted something hot and properly cooked (not fast food). Walked past and saw it looked pretty busy. Always a good sign, prices were very competitive and so we took the plunge and entered. A wall of warmth hits you straight away and we were greeted by one of the staff who spoke impeccable English. We each ordered meals and drinks. Food was wonderful, service was great , so much so that we tried on our last day for breakfast as well. Very very satisfied customers. Recommended

As the snow fell heavily my twin brother Ste and I dropped into U Tri Jelinku and what another great visit.
I love the look of this tavern ,interior is superb ,a cool looking serving bar ,great decor and furnishings and lots of seating options and all housed in a great looking building.
We were greeted and seated and ordered beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,served iced cold and sparkling and with the big foamy head so beloved by the Czech's ,we chilled out and took in the great tavern we were in.
Beer was so good ,proper Czech beer ,while sipping our beers we ordered a meal ,we chose goulash ,after a short wait our meals arrived and what a treat ,served steaming hot ,thick, warming and just so tasty ,coupled with our lovely beers made for a great dining experience in a fantastic tavern.
We finished off our visit with another beer each before moving on to face the snowy elements and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
U Tri Jelinku is easy to locate along Nerudova .
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday ,open from 10am.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Shaking off jet lag, a colleague and I walked up to and around the castle on a drizzly Monday evening in November. On our way down, we stopped at U Tri jelinka (which wasn't all that crowded on a Monday) and couldn't have been more than happy with our choice. Seated at the window facing the street with a wood fire behind us, we had the duck/plum/onion flatbread and Camembert salad for starters, which were both good, but we were most impressed with the deer leg steak and roasted duck entrees, which were delicious. Add in a couple of beers, and there was no room for dessert. While in a touristy area, U Tri jelinka felt cozy and homy, and is very recommended.

Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
