Wow! Just arrived at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Prague & their restaurant Next Door by Imperial was recommended for lunch. We both had the soufflé of cepe with truffle gnocchi which was seriously one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Service was wonderful also!

We wanted to have some Czech cuisine and we tried this restaurant which gave us a modern twist on the food. We enjoyed everything from the bread basket to our entrees. Our waiter was prompt and friendly. I had the veal special with polenta and...bearnaise sauce- I ate every bite. My husband enjoyed his braised beef with dumplings and cranberries. We didn’t leave enough room for dessert yet they looked great.More

I have been in restaurants three times, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The food and service is good , constant over 3 years. So constant that the card has not changes at all. Ok, lunch menu and chef’s suggestion is changing but the majority did not...change. If you are visiting once is good, but on others hand shows what is the restaurant is about. And that is tourists oriented. The negative is tipping. Each time they will charge you extra 10% while on the menu is written that the extra charge is for groups over 8 or 9 persons (not sure at the moment). Asking waitresses it always the same excuse - “sorry i did by mistake” . Lets be clear guys deserve a tip but please do not treat tourists like ATM.More

Excellent meal with attentive and knowledgable staff who knew about food allergies and intolerances and were able to quickly sort out suitable food… which tasted amazing! From the bread through the mains (the wild boar meal tasted exceptional) to the surprising and delicious marinaded pears,...the meals were fabulous.. and filling. Great quality and a fabulous evening. Thank you all!More

We hope to eat at the Imperial but it was fully booked but fortunately spotted Next Door! It is a lovely bright modern space, and we were lucky to get a central table with a view or the open kitchen. The meals were excellent. My...daughter loved the mash potato (what magic is used to prepare it?) and veal schnitzel. My beef was delicious, as was the fish dish. Every item on the menu looked amazing too.More

I have mixed feelings about the restaurant Next Door by Imperial. We were eating at this restaurant just a moment ago. This restaurant has been widely praised, partly because the restaurateur is Zdeněk Pohlreich himself. Well, what kind of experience was the dinner then? In...the beginning, everything went smoothly. I had made a table reservation at the restaurant on the same day. The time of the table reservation was at 9:30 pm. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted in a friendly manner and otherwise everything went smoothly as usual until the arrival of the appetizer. After that, the rush started. Appetizers arrived at the table very quickly. So fast that we didn't manage to drink our aperitifs. The same continued with the main courses. the drink was still half finished when I already ate the main course. The rush was topped off by the waiter, who came to ask before I had reached the middle of the main course if we wanted to order dessert. Can you believe. The dessert order had to be made before we had eaten the main course. This seemed downright outrageous. If someone comes to your restaurant after making a table reservation, the customer should be allowed to dine in peace! Also, I paid quite a bit of money for the meal. We were told that the restaurant would close soon and therefore it would be a hurry to order dessert if we wanted to enjoy one. Well we ordered it, but we didn't enjoy the rest of the meal anymore. It was as if we were kicked out of the restaurant. This is sad in the sense that the food itself was quite tasty. I cannot recommend a late reservation. If you intend to eat in this restaurant, come in the early evening. Otherwise, you won't have a good time. The restaurant is all in all a good average level, nothing more. A 10 percent service charge was smoothly added to the total amount of the bill and I was advised how to leave a tip. Well, I didn't leave this time and I'm unlikely to have dinner there again.More

I had high hopes given the beautiful decor and price but it soon went downhill. Despite a 7pm reservation, they had already run out of the steak special. My veal was exactly the same as you would find in any beer hall for half the...price. My plate was removed and I was offered dessert while I was still chewing my main. I have felt less rushed in a food court. For the same money (or less) go across the way to the Imperial Cafe - a far more pleasant experience.More

Czech food revisited modern style for the best. Posh atmosphere and good service. Definitely worth the slightly higher price. Book in advance. Only small minus was my Viennese schnitzel with potato puree; not even a leaf of decoration.

This restaurant was recommended by a Taiwanese blogger for great breakfast. But we went there for lunch to see if it's also good. We were there at around 1:30pm and got a table for 2 without waiting. It was not full house but there were...2 large tables and the area is quite noisy. It became more quiet and relaxed after they were gone. Food is great. We ordered roasted beef appetizer, club sandwich with fries, and veal schnitzel. Served with bread with ham spread. Everything is great especially the roasted beef appetizer. The guy who served us is handsome, polite, professional and explained every dish in detail. Price is a bit high but reasonable for that quality of food. Love this restaurant. Highly recommended.More

No, it is not necessary for a lunch reservation. We were a group of five and they were able to accommodate us.
