U Veverky Restaurant
Review
About
Restaurant U Veverky is a typical Old Prague Pilsen pub on the corner of Eliášova and Jaselská streets in Bubeneč. In addition to good beer, we can also guarantee the quality of the dishes served, which focus on classic Czech cuisine, including homemade dumplings of all kinds. Satisfied taste buds will be complemented by the atmosphere of a local establishment and friendly staff.

As an American traveling through Prague, I was lucky enough to find this “mom and pop” restaurant. The layout is a bit different than I am used to. There is a large curtain at the door, to keep the cold out. Once through this, the staff are standing in front of several beer taps. I was eventually able to express that I was there to eat and they promptly sat me at one of their large tables. I sat and ate and drank there for about 4 hours and loved every minute of it. It does get quite busy at night, with many tables already reserved. The food was great - the goulash with bread dumplings was life changing. Despite the obvious language barrier, due to my complete ignorance of the Czech language, I felt at home the entire time. This will definitely be a stop when I come back with the family.

Recommended place frequented by locals, however an English menu is available. Very friendly and attentive staff even with language difficulties. Typical dishes and excellent beer. We tried chicken soup, meatloaf with potatoes and pork schnitzel with coleslaw and carrots. All very good. With two beers (excellent!!!) we paid €60.

So, I popped into "U Veverky" for lunch the other day, and oh boy, did it hit the spot! First off, their lunch menu is very good – they've got classic meaty meals (Their beef comes from local organic Czech farm), but what blew me away was the veggie selection, and get this, they even serve up a roasted fresh fish. During evenings the place transforms into this cozy Czech pub vibe that's just perfect. But here's the kicker – they've got the best tank Pilsner in Prague (change my mind).

Thanks for swinging by for lunch! We're stoked you found our menu both surprising and satisfying. Our aim is to cater to all tastes, whether you're in the mood for organic beef or craving something veggie or fishy. And we couldn't agree more about our cozy evening vibe – it's the perfect backdrop for enjoying the best tank Pilsner in Prague. Challenge accepted – we'll keep those taps flowing until you're convinced!

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around the Dejvica District ,Praha 6 , when we decided to drop into U Veverky ,a great pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Prague I take.
I love the look of this pub ,multi roomed ,dark wood features, pubby decor and furnishings, vintage beer enamels adorning the walls,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub all housed in a great looking pub building.
We were here on a Saturday night, pub was busy with a great vibe ,we ordered a beer each from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
My beer was really good ,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very refreshing ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
U Veverky is easy to locate along Eliashova.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,11am till 11pm.
A great pub,one I highly recommend you visit if you're in the area.

I've been here more than once and I cannot complain about food even if you will struggle if you are vegetarian or not czech speaker. Getting an english menu is harder than learning the czech language.
However, the Oscar of the night goes to... the brunette waitress!! Unpolite, rude and aggresive. While trying to get her attention to get a beer she started to say she was alone and couldn't serve us. At least, she was rude with all the other 50 people in there not only with us. I got also a piece of glass in my beer. I mean, it's not her fault but when I asked her to change the beer she looked pissed at me as I had bitten my glass...

We got there on a week day and we were surprised by the amount of people there. It must be a very popular restaurant considering it is not in the middle of Prague. True, it is close to the castle but not that close.
Waiters had a lot of work, running up and down. Food was good and beer too. If it wasn't so noisy we would enjoy our conversation. Not restaurant fault of course.

Drinky are really expensive. Normal meals also. Service is good, but why not for this money. Not good place to visit in Prague.

U Ververky on Eliášova in Bubeneč and is a classic Prague restaurant and is a brilliant restaurant to visit if you are in the Bubeneč area of Prague.
Housed in a corner building'U Ververky is a restaurant and pub and is a popular place with the locals and tourist's who know were U Ververky is located.
The interior has a traditional multi-roomed Prague restaurant interior with a great bar room as you enter and further through the restaurant well furnished rooms with lots of interesting fixtures and features and great seating options.
We have visited here twice and it has been very busy on both occasion's that we have visited. It was so busy when we visited early in the evening we couldn't get a seat so we had to stand near the main bar were there was a ledge and order a couple of glasses of Pilsner Urquell brewery beers. The beers where superb and as its not really a tourist place very reasonably priced.
A superb Prague restaurant and pub thats well worth visiting and easy to find from the Hradčanská metro stop it's a minutes walk.

We really enjoyed our dinner and a couple of beers afterwards. As it is a bit far from the centre, it is not very touristy and we enjoyed the excellent food and the attentive service. We would come back again!
