Simona, thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us.
I always visit this restaurant when I am in Prague. I love the food, the ambiente and the excellent beer. I also recommended it many times it to my friends and praised it as an excellent opportunity to experience a genuine czech pub, far from...the usual tourist places. My son went there yesterday (24.8.2022. bill payed at 21.21) with his friends and, although the food and beer was great as usual, they made an extremely unpleasant experience while paying the bill. They were 6 foreigners, my son the only one speaking a little bit czech. The waiter brought them 2 bills, 1 for 21 beers (they never, not even remotely, drank that much), and another for the food, with only 6 times the same generic name (like "food") on it, with an amount matching none of the 6 different plates they really commanded. When my son approached the waiter with the complain, he immediately recognised that he counted too much beer, made another bill and threw both original bills away, the one for the food included. He didn't want to accept the claim about the food, pretending it was too late. My son and his friends, finally, payed it. They are young, 18-19 years old,and not so experienced, they did not want to make troubles. They calculated it after and it was 25 Euro too much. Despite the excellent food and beer, they left very disappointed.More
Its our first day in Prague so our friend recomended us this restourant. We went here and we ordered their traditional dishes. It was very good , we will come here next time. 😊
We got there on a week day and we were surprised by the amount of people there. It must be a very popular restaurant considering it is not in the middle of Prague. True, it is close to the castle but not that close. Waiters...had a lot of work, running up and down. Food was good and beer too. If it wasn't so noisy we would enjoy our conversation. Not restaurant fault of course.More
My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around the Dejvica District ,Praha 6 , when we decided to drop into U Veverky ,a great pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Prague I take. I love the look of...this pub ,multi roomed ,dark wood features, pubby decor and furnishings, vintage beer enamels adorning the walls,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub all housed in a great looking pub building. We were here on a Saturday night, pub was busy with a great vibe ,we ordered a beer each from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My beer was really good ,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very refreshing ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. U Veverky is easy to locate along Eliashova. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,11am till 11pm. A great pub,one I highly recommend you visit if you're in the area.More
U Ververky on Eliášova in Bubeneč and is a classic Prague restaurant and is a brilliant restaurant to visit if you are in the Bubeneč area of Prague. Housed in a corner building'U Ververky is a restaurant and pub and is a popular place with...the locals and tourist's who know were U Ververky is located. The interior has a traditional multi-roomed Prague restaurant interior with a great bar room as you enter and further through the restaurant well furnished rooms with lots of interesting fixtures and features and great seating options. We have visited here twice and it has been very busy on both occasion's that we have visited. It was so busy when we visited early in the evening we couldn't get a seat so we had to stand near the main bar were there was a ledge and order a couple of glasses of Pilsner Urquell brewery beers. The beers where superb and as its not really a tourist place very reasonably priced. A superb Prague restaurant and pub thats well worth visiting and easy to find from the Hradčanská metro stop it's a minutes walk. (This is my first review of U Ververky). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-11.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Hradčanská bus stop. Metro Stop. Hradčanska metro stop. Tram Stop. Hradčanská tram stop.More
We had a nice czech experience with tradiditional food, the stuff was so nice and welcoming! Recommended
Dear Sarah, thank you for your recommendation! See you next time.
Great bistro, the food is all Czech and very good. We got a drink, entrée and a desert for €7. I recommend it!
I've been here more than once and I cannot complain about food even if you will struggle if you are vegetarian or not czech speaker. Getting an english menu is harder than learning the czech language. However, the Oscar of the night goes to... the...brunette waitress!! Unpolite, rude and aggresive. While trying to get her attention to get a beer she started to say she was alone and couldn't serve us. At least, she was rude with all the other 50 people in there not only with us. I got also a piece of glass in my beer. I mean, it's not her fault but when I asked her to change the beer she looked pissed at me as I had bitten my glass...More
We really enjoyed our dinner and a couple of beers afterwards. As it is a bit far from the centre, it is not very touristy and we enjoyed the excellent food and the attentive service. We would come back again!
An excellent restaurant situated away from touristic zones, it is clearly the one in which the locals have their meals. The proof is the absence of any other menu but in Czech. The waitress quickly translated the latter to give us an idea of what...was in today's menu (that apparently changes every day because it had a date on it). I recommend arriving earlier to have the full menu because when we came at around 2 p.m. some positions were already gone. So we took drinks, each a main course and a dessert. It was generous, delicious, and we only paid 16€ for two! Would recommend to everyone.More
The place was a little bit noisy, but we liked the atmosphere. We started with a local beer and we ordered ribs. We enjoyed our dinner here, the food was delicious and the portions big. We paid around 30€.
Authentic Czech food of the highest quality, great variety in the menu, perfect atmosphere blending both a pub and a restaurant feel. Loved it. Had pork chops in a delightful mushroom sauce that were cooked to perfection!
This is a gem of a pub in one of my favourite Prague neighbourhoods. U Veverky is always full, and with good reason. Great beer, a varied and satisfying menu, and really good service. Reservations are probably advisable, especially for dinner. I will be back...again and again now that I've had a taste. This is a great find.More
The Inspector visited this establishment September 2019. From the start I need to point out that the atmosphere here is a pub restaurant and the setting is very much a bar, if you expecting a restaurant you may be disappointed. The staff were very friendly...and very accommodating, menu’s were available in English in addition to the local menu. Between us we tried too local dishes and both were beautifully fresh, tasty and well prepared and presented. Value for money was good, although with the exchange rate at its current point, everywhere in Prague is now rather expensive compared to the recent past for the British travellers. However in comparison to other food eateries in the area this is good value here. So in summary if you are ok with a pub restaurant at a good price with friendly staff and quality food this is the place for you. I would happily return here to eatMore
