As my twin brother Stephen and I were staying in the Smichov district we couldn't resist going to this pub which is one of our favourites in this eclectic district of Prague. This is a proper cellar pub, arched walls, exposed brickwork, beer posters and enamels adorning...the walls, a long solid serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this cavernous pub,its just one really good pub. We were here on a Friday late afternoon, in fact we were the first customers of the day as the pub had just opened its doors so we had the pub all to ourselves so we could appreciate what a great looking pub this is. A very pleasant member of staff served us a beer each,we opted to have that most Czech of beers namely pilsner urquell beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. I really enjoy pilsner urquell beer, it's a light, hoppy and unpretentious beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink,a beer style I really enjoy, it's the beer I most associate with Prague. We really enjoyed our beers in here, ended up staying for two each ,pub really started to fill up with weekend revellers before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. This pub is easy to locate, tram numbers 4.5.12.20.94. & night trams 901 .907 to stop Na Knìžecí drops you off practically by the pub. Opening hours are, Monday to Thursday, 5pm till 3am. Friday & Saturday, 5pm till 5am. Sunday, Closed. A great pub,if your in the Smichov district well worth checking out.More
