We went here for lunch on the recommendation of friends. We had the black beer to drink which was good. The goulash soup was okay. It didn't seem overly hearty. We also had the Czech variety platter which is a great assortment of duck, pork shoulder, smoked sausage, sauerkraut and potato dumplings. It's a good way to try a variety of the meats but I didn't find it to be anything special. Nothing really stuck out. I felt as though it was over priced. Service here is great though. We were treated to a plate of Christmas treats, that were okay (To be fair, I don't often enjoy cookies) and a delicious house drink - it was the best part of the meal.

This restaurant is on the main street of Wenceslas Square with outdoor seating and extremely friendly staff. Dont be deceived thinking its small - went to the loo downstairs and the place is huge inside but we loved eating outside. The food is amazing and in particular the mixed grill which is steak, pork, and chicken with an egg on top surrounded by veg and the most delicious sauce. It was lovely sitting at the tables outside eating or just having drinks and the atmosphere on the street is fantastic. I cannot understand anyone giving this restaurant bad reviews as we visited it on numerous occasions at different times of the day during our stay and it was 100% every time for both service, atmosphere and 1st class food.

We ate at this restaurant by chance. We liked that you can see the menu posted outside the restaurant to give you an idea of what they offer. As we did not want too heavy a meal, we asked what they would recommend. We got very honest advice to combine the Czech platter with salad, which will be sufficient for two. The food was delivered fast and it was very tasty! As we were having a nice experience in the restaurant, we decided to stay for dessert and asked for a recommendation. The waiter recommended apple strudel as according to him, it was made the way his grandmother made it. His tone and expression were so trustworthy so we took his advice. It was indeed delicious! Overall, we were impressed by both the food and service in this restaurant that we had to make sure we got the name right for the review. Highly recommended. :-)

Out for a little orientation and getting used to the metro we stopped at Muzeum and found this resturant. My wife had the goulash and I had steak followed by apple strudel and washed down with a lite and dark beer. Super food, good service and a reasonable price. Well worth a visit!

Great for a casual night out with friends... Service was great we visited with our friends during a long weekend break for a drink then returned later for an evening meal. Great Service and hospitality and everything was spotlessly clean. Barbara served us on our first dinner visit, really helpful and friendly and gave good advice on options available including a reasonably priced wine that was superb. Location a little out from the main square but well worth a visit , so much so we returned another night and had an equally good experience with fine cuisine. Thoroughly recommend.

I went on Sunday evening, with my wife for a late dinner. We were both tired and hungry from the days activities, and the restaurant was very busy, we almost didn't go in, but we saw a few empty tables and we are very greatful that we did.. The first waiter met us by the door, he didn't seem to happy that we were there, led us to a very small table in the corner. while we were waiting for the menu, we noticed a couple of larger tables. We asked the waiter if we could change, because we needed the extra leg room., he said no, and didn't say it too nicely, we tried to discuss with him, but he wasn't budging. When he went away while waiting for us to choose our food, we saw that another waiter wasn't happy with the first waiter for some reason, and they were looking at our table. Then the second waiter came to our table and asked us if everything was OK, and we again requested a larger table. The second waiter, who was very friendly, told us "of course" and led us immediately to a larger table(which was much more comfortable for us, as we also needed to relax after a long day) He was very funny, and he smiled a lot, it made us forget the first waiter, who didn't make us feel welcome or comfortable. I think the second waiter said his name was Valstimar (I do apologise if I didn't say his name correct ) we asked him if he could recommend something for us. He was more than happy to, he recommended the Pork Knee, and Beef Gulash. Both of which were very tasty and satisfying. Plus he even brought us 2 shots of a local liquor, for free. Thanks to him, we had a great experience, and when we come back to Prague again, we will definitely be back. Thank you for the very friendly service and the warm feeling as we left. Thank you.

I would like to share my extremely positive experience from visiting the Café Svatého Václava restaurant in the center of Prague, located right on Wenceslas Square. This traditional Czech restaurant completely charmed me. Our second visit (the very next day) with my wife allowed us to experience perfect, attentive and unusually kind service. The place is simply amazing and authentic, and I must say the food was really delicious. As a chef working in a 4-star hotel, I am so impressed with the quality of service that I envy them having such staff. And we had the opportunity to try both personnel changes. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to enjoy traditional Czech cuisine in a wonderful environment. We are looking forward to our next visit (we are in Prague for two more days, I think we will not miss this business), because this experience really left an indelible impression on us! Well thank you.

Went here for a dinner while walking through the city. We were lucky to get a seat since it got very crowded afterwards (it was a Thursday). Service at the restaurant was very good , mostly quite efficient and fast with some delays at the end. I had a great veal irloin in a traditional Czech sauce with two types of knedliky (bread dumplings). This was quite a nice flavourfull dish. I also had some side salad which was okay. As usual they had the standard draught beers like Kozel and Pilsner which were great. Price is a bit on higher side for Prague but still quite fine. Worth a visit in any case if you want to try traditional Czech food.

The service is good and fast, the waiters are Nice and smiling and the café is in the center. The only weak point is the gulasch.. it was delicious but I think that for the price only 4 little pieces of meat it’s not enough! Anyways thanks for the hospitality

Just picked this restaurant at random on a very wet September night whilst passing by. I ordered the pork skewer which I believe is a very traditional Czech dish, which is something I wouldn’t have normally ordered, but was recommended to me by Dominik. It was delicious and washed down with a few pints of beer. Thanks Dominik for the recommendation.

The Restaurant-Cafe Svateho Vaclava is conveniently located on Wenceslas Square. It's deceptively large - rooms on 2 levels. We went there for lunch and shared a traditional Czech meal of goulash and sausages. Both delicious and more than enough. The service was friendly and efficient.

This restaurant was very near to our hotel (Elysee, Wenceslas Square) but we took no notice of it at first, it looks like a café from outside. A closer look at the menu revealed a larger choice than we’d found elsewhere in the area with better prices. Added to that the food was really good and the staff were lovely without exception. We had a really good time and recommend for sure, should have gone sooner and more often!

Came here on vacation. Sat for one hour and 30 minutes and our food was NEVER ordered. Waiter was extremely pushy on purchasing beer as well. Made us pay for our drinks and added items that we never received. Horrible and would never go back. Had to then find dinner at 9:30pm because of their mistake.

Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city.
