I’ve been to the Aquarius restaurant of Prague’s Alchymist hotel a couple of times before for lunches with business partners and was satisfied. What I experienced last night there with my wife easily made it into the Flop 10 of restaurant experiences as executive having...lived, dined and traveled all continents for 30 years: We entered the lovely inyard of the Alchymist hotel after a walk with our little dog waiting to be attended and seated by the restaurant personnel. Of the ca. 6 restaurant tables in the inyard 3 were empty and not reserved. After not being attend neither greeted by the restaurant personnel which passed by several times to attend the 3 occupied tables and totally ignored for about 10min I walked into the hotel and complained with the manager in charge at the reception. The Gentleman was kind and helpful and tried to sort out the situation but we were so annoyed with the ignorance of the restaurant personnel that we left! To be chrystal clear: This kind of non-existing customer service is not accetable at all and can’t be the standard of a self proclaimed Luxury Boutique hotel. We will not come back privately nor for business purposes. Luckily there are real first class restaurants and hotels with a top customer service nearby: Coda, U Zlaté Studnê, Spices, Taro...More

We have been unlucky with our visit at Aquarius.¨ I am normally not a very picky guy, but when something is presented as luxury then the standards have to be respected. We arrived at the restaurant passing through the old-style but definitely impressive lobby and...bar. However, when we have been sat there were two big stains on my wife side. We made aware the waiter who proposed to cover them with napkins but didn't want to change the towel (we asked him and he said he would have preferred not to do it). We have then changed table... The menu has nothing really special (I admit my son really enjoyed the pasta he had) and my fish was floating in oil...which tells me that it wasn't exactly cooked at the moment. At the moment of paying, another waiter told me that he "would prefer the tip on cash, if possible" (I quote)...well, I left without tip nor in cash nor on card. So, I see many others have left positive remarks. It is possible we have been unlucky...but food was just ok (a kind of Italian-alike-sounding but nothing so flashy for me) while the service has been terrible. PS: life music is a nice idea, but if songs played are in Italian and French it is better to find somebody fluent in at least one of them. Otherwise, a good cd can make it.More

Top service, top food, top interior, nice prices for this "michelin food". 👏👍 I ordered veal, my friend ordered steak. Most tender meat i have ever tasted, my friend agreed. The starter dish also perfect!👌

The breakfast buffet consists of anything you could possibly want... delicious breads and rolls; crepe Suzette; yogurts; full excellent Engligh breakfast; Prague ham; smoked salmon; great cheeses; whole fruit; cut-up fruit; cereal, nuts, preserves; champange... and so much more. Beyond one's wildest imagination. The dinner...we had was definitely five star. Every morsel was heavenly. The service was excellent. The atmosphere wonderful old-world. Luxury at its finest.More

Atmosphere was luxurious. Amuse bouche was very hospitable touch. My friend and I split a risotto entree as an appetizer. Love it that they split it for us and presented beautifully. My duck was crispy as my request. Red cabbage was delicious. Caprese salad was...fresh and creatively presented. Czech potato soup was very good. Thomas our server was efficient attentive and friendly. He even taught us a few Czech words.More

We stayed in the Alchymist hotel so decided to try the in house restaurant. We ended up eating there twice over 4 days - it’s very good. The menu is mainly Italian with a handful of local dishes too. Likewise the wine list. All of...our meals were lovely. The restaurant is about 5 mins from the castle side if Charles Bridge. It’s quieter, in a good way, than most of the other restaurants locally - worth a visit if you’re in the area. One small criticism- at our first meal, the sommelier tried to steer me towards about the most expensive wine on the list - a bit cheeky.More

Smart casual? Shorts and t shirt inappropriate but open neck shirt and casual trousers fine. Like most decent European places.
