If you're looking for a traditional pub with good beer and want to have some good traditional food with it, go for this pub. It is located in the basement, with wooden table and chairs. We were served quite fast (slow roasted pork and duck legs with cabbage). Very good and copious portions. The beer (pilsner urquell) was good, foamy and fresh. The waiter didn't speak much English, but we managed.

Pub and bar hopping around this part of town my twin brother Stephen and I dropped into this bar and what a nice find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, interior is traditional,it's quite a dark bar ,chunky wooden tables and chairs, pubby decor and furnishings and an eye catching serving bar, cosy sums it up best. We were here on a Friday evening,we ordered beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery, these were served in excellent condition and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured and served . My beer was really good,a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste ,so tasty,so easy to drink ,so refreshing ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer. We really enjoyed our beers before we moved on and for a first time visit to here we had a great time. U Brejsku is easy to locate along Spalena and is well worth checking out if you're in the area.

This is over a 100 year old Real Czech Bar! Its in center od Prague- near Franz Kafka rotating head. You get there down stairs like in a cellar. Famous writer Jaroslav Hasek used to eat, drink and work here! We ate smaženy syr (95czk) with tatarska omacka (10czk) and drank 0.5l beer Didak (29czk) we paid with card! Amazing place with great atmosphere and nice prices! You will feel like in Czech!

A no frills restaurant, located in a basement in Spalena street right across narodni trida metro. Good location, easy to find. Prices are very competitive, got some cold pints for around 30 czk which was awesome, decoration in the restaurant is also aesthetically pleasing. Now comes the food, a bit on the meh side, or bland if you want to describe it. Service staff felt like they didn't really care about customers, just wanted us to eat, pay, and leave asap. Not a bad value, but many similar restaurants offering similar prices, if you just step a few mins outside city center

This restaurant is very difficult to find but well worth it. Steak with a side and large beer cost me about £8. Steak was amazing quality, incredibly tender and perfectly cooked. I'm really surprised this restaurant isn't busier, and deserves alot more attention than the overpriced touristy restaurants in the Old Town Square. Service wasn't astounding but the food totally made up for it. I will definitely be coming back here!

A hidden gem that everyone should visit, could be easily missed on the busy street. Traditional cuisine that’s absolutely incredible, wouldn’t go anywhere else for it! Staff very helpful and friendly. Decor very cool and creative inside. Such a cosy little place and cheap for large portion sizes!!!! Found this place because of a review by Honest Guide on YouTube. Amazing place!!

Very typical Czech pub with traditional cuisine. Decent price and tasty food. We thought it would be even cheaper because we'd seen this restaurant on a YouTube video from the Honest Guide and on the video he mentioned that he payed half of what we did for pretty much the same things. Anyway it was still cheap and very tasty.

Went there once for lunch and it become our main food establishment. Food is great, beer good, place interesting and service effective. And price - unbeatable. Never paid more than £20 for two persons (and that’s with plenty of beer) So...about food. Came first for pork knee (costs just £10). Its large enough for 2 persons. If not mistaken - it was 1.4kg, tender and well cooked meet. Had to wait some 20-25min, but worth every minute of that time. We shortened that time with drinking Klostermann semi-dark beer (simply great, no other words for that) and studied illustrations on walls from The Good Soldier Švejk. After that great pork knee, we returned again for some more local food. My friend opted for roast duck with 2 types of dumplings (knedlik). One was typical bread dumpling, but second was mixture of dread and potatoes. Both nice, but duck...well...duck was ok, but that’s it. Nothing special. Meanwhile I had goulash sauce with bread dumplings - simply great again. And that Klostermann beer...disintegrated left before had 8 between two of us again 😁 Definitely will go back again and recommend everyone to do same.

We luckily found this place on day 1. Great food really reasonable prices for proper Czech food. Most of the customers were locals that’s always a good sign. Its quirky with funny art work. The staff are friendly and speak good English. The Pork knuckle was exceptional. We ordered size of spinach and grilled veg. The whole lot with 2 beers and a wine was £26

Menu was 1.4kg roasted pork knee for me today and I enjoyed it very much. With two bottles of sparkling water as you can see total price was just below EUR15. Other specialties are also served ... Just come and try it !

Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
