We stumbled on this returning from Old Town. It is a neighborhood restaurant with a great selection of Czech beers. We had seen the pork knuckle, which is similar to the German schweinehaxe, in Old Town at four times the price so decided to give it a try. The restaurant and bar are busy in the evening and the uppr... More

Well, people when in Prague, would like to taste The Czech cousine and this restaurant looking apside looks like premium choice. However, as in most cases when you visit Prague restaurants, there is no certainty you will get what you expect: microwave warned food is such a thing. Atmosphere inside is poisoned by tobacco, outside it looks better. If you... More

I took a chance on this place without consulting all the guide books or websites. I am so glad I did. The first room at the door is a small bar, but go through into a dining room. This place serves great authentic (old fashion) Czech food. I had the pork elbow, slow roasted and served with horseradish, mustard, sauerkraut,... More

We were in this wonderful area of Prague called Vinohrady and had just been to BEERGEEK BAR ( well worth a visit ) when we chanced on this very busy restaurant. We walked in and it's a proper unspoilt old traditional Czech restaurant, all wood interior, great furnishing's and on our visit very busy,it certainly is one popular establishment. We were only... We went there to escape from rain for the first time. Second time we were also for drinks only. The staff was proffessional and understood well our English. Nonfiltered Gambrinus was very good to my husbands taste and i liked my gintonic. I wonder if Alibaba0805 have reviewed the right restaurant, because i saw no terrace. Only minus i would... More

During our Prague trip we found the restaurant by accident and had dinner there (as locals recommended it to us). We sat on the terrace, the food was great - we had a good time! But the surprise came with the bill : There was an extra charge of 10% added the total amount ! The waiter insisted - we... More

I've recently been in Prague, and, since I had already read the reviews here on TripAdvisor, I chose this restaurant to give czech cuisine a try. My girlfriend and I had a goulash and a pork knee, both deliciuos (and I don't like onions !) and very cheap. Just one inconvenient: at 7.00 pm they weren't serving desserts, because the... More

This was my favorite restaurant in Prague. If you want to get a feel of traditional Czech food at a very good price, then this is the place to go. It is located not too far from the city center but far enough to find great food for the price. Great ambiance, mostly frequented by the locals, wait staff will... More

Neighborhood Profile
Vinohrady & Vrsovice
Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighborhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.
