If there's one pub I know I'm going to visit on any trip to Prague I take it's Pivnice U Sadu. Established in 1929 ,this is one of the most famous pubs in the Zizkov District, the interior is amazing, set over two floors, a rustic look,an eye catching serving bar, great decor and furnishings, every inch of wall and ceiling space is festooned with assorted bric a brac,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this pub, its just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday evening, we ordered beers from Cerna Hora Brewery, these beers were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good, poured and served with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of Czech beer ,this beer was a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink, a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. On this visit I cannot really comment on the meals as we were only here for beers but I have ate many times over the many years I've been visiting Prague and they are delicious, proper Czech cuisine ,hearty and filling. We really enjoyed our beers in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Pivnice U Sadu we had a great time. Pivnice U Sadu is easy to locate along Skroupovo Namesti. Opening hours are; Monday, 8am till 2am. Tuesday to Saturday, 8am till 4am. Sunday, 8am till 2am. A wonderful pub, if you're in the Zizkov District most definitely well worth seeking out.

Cozy pub with very tasty and cheap food. I ordered a homemade beer (half a liter) and pasta with chicken, mushrooms and cream. Sounds simple, but it tasted very good. In total, I didn't even spend 13 euros. It is also nice to go here for the atmosphere.

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around the wonderful Zizkov district of Prague when we decided to drop into Pivnice U Sadu ,been here before on previous holidays to Prague ,always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this pub, interior is superb, two floored, every inch of the walls and ceiling are decorated with all manner of bric a brac, there's a great looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a Sunday afternoon, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and with the distinctive foamy head so characteristic of the way Czech beer is poured, we kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular. My beer was really good, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Pivnice U Sadu we had a great time. Pivnice U Sadu is easy to locate on Stroupovo Namesti. Opening hours are; Monday, 8am till 2am. Tuesday to Saturday, 8am till 4am. Sunday, 8am till 2. Well worth checking out if you're in the Zizkov district of Prague.

I love this pub, it's pure Prague, great atmosphere, not a tourist place, wide selection of beers and moderate prices. As far as I can remember, I also usually liked the food - not a Michelin star but decent. Unfortunately, today's visit was a bitter disappointment: Cmunda po Kaplicku, potato pancakes with smoked meat and cabbage, are still weighing on my stomach. The pancake must have been from last year. Or even from the time of socialism.

Worst bar ever, worst service, really rude waiter. The service was bad and when we didn’t leave tip the waiter insulted us and said not to come back. Don’t waste your money and time here.

Super cute place. Very good service. Very good beers and their delicious dishes. Read well the gr of things you order because the pores are abundant. Average price in two 4 beers that plates spent 47€. Recommendation

The place, drinks & food are very good, but the service was very unpleasant. The waitress threw the menu at us and onto the table and left. She was extremly arrogant, left in the middle of us placing the order so we didnť’t get it all. It was on Friday 7th/Sarurday 8th. If she doesnt like her job she should have studied better. The worst service in my entire life. I was shocked by her behavior, I loved the place otherwise, good food and is amazing, we love coming here but her treatment was shocking and terrible and Send her home, maybe forever.

Nice pub close to Žižkov tower. Perfect for late drinks and food, considering is open until morning. Very basic food and beers, don't expect to be in a fancy place, but is definitely a good place to hang out after a night out

This pub was close to where we were staying in Prague. Despite the mixed reviews we found the service friendly, the food good and the selection of beers excellent. We visited a few times during our short visit, and would definitely return. Sometimes you just feel "at home" in a place.

U Sadu on Škroupovo Náměsti was just one of the many pubs/bars and restaurants me and my twin brother went to on our ten day holiday in Prague.Located in a really good area of Prague called Žìžkov'this excellent pub offer's ten draught Czech beers and a brilliant well priced food menu and this is a pub we've been many time's over the years and on our latest visit it was packed. This superb pivnice was first established in 1929 and has ground and basement areas and a nice outside terrace. Its ground floor area is really good with an arrey of vintage fixtures and features on its walls and on its ceiling.Theres a great cellar type area that has the look and feel of a sports-bar with a nice interior with excellent furnishing's and nice decor and superb seating options. We like everything about this excellent pub from its location to the way it looks and the food and drinks it offers that are extremely well priced. When we went here it was really busy but we managed to find a table were we had a few pints of Matuška brewery IPA which were perfectly served and really well priced considering the craft beer's we had and the pub we were in. A superb pub in a superb area that's really easy to find from Jìřího Z Poděbrad it's just a few minutes walk.(This is my 2nd review of Pivnice U Sadu). Opening Hours. Monday-08.00-02.00. Tuesday-Saturday-08.00-04.00. Sunday-08.00-02.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Jìřího Z Poděbrad Bus Stop-101. Metro Stop. Jìřího Z Poděbrad Metro Stop-Line-A-(Green Line). Tram Stop. Jìřího Z Poděbrad Tram Stop-13.

I, an expat living here (been living in Praha for 3 years) came here on a Friday night for some food and drinks with a coworker after finishing our shift as bartenders at around 2AM. All was fine until around 3:40AM - while we were finishing up our pints of beer, one staff member tried kicking us out because they were "closed". We asked the guy that since we thought they closed at 4AM (we've been there a few times before, as well as being stated on their website, on google, on their door, etc.) if we could just have another 5-10 minutes to finish up our beers and then we'll happily leave. He started to yell at us in Czech - at that point my coworker and I figured it'd be best if we just chugged our beers and left ASAP to avoid any unnecessary drama. As we were leaving, my coworker (who is a Czech local) asked why were we being rushed and kicked out before 4AM if we still had another 20 minutes to finish our beers. The same staff member started to shout at us again and then followed us outside of the restaurant. He grabbed my shirt (which he ripped) and called me some racial slurs in Czech as he tried to fight me and threatened to "kill us" if we were to ever come back. Filed a police report.....such a shame as we didn't mind going to this place after our shifts but we definitely will not tolerate this type of behaviour!! Staff/establishments like this give the hospitality industry a bad name.

This place offers a huge variety of different tap and botteled beers. The food served was very enjoyable as well. Would definitively come back here.
