This restaurant is a place where you can sit four meters from four waitresses standing in a circle and listen to them critisise actual visitors. During aproximately fifteen minutes of waiting for nothing you can register each of them staring at least two times at...your table with no beer. After long time the tap makes you a beer and do the waitress's job, brings it to you himself. When you finish your lager, same situation repeats, but with difference, that waitresses are staring at an empty glass instead of no glass. Attitude makes half of taste of the beer.More

The schnitzel was great with a dark beer and a very tasty potato salad. A very satisfying lunch and the inside is so interesting with objects and painted walls. A good local experience.

My husband and I ate here on our first night in Prague. I had the Svickova and my husband had the Smazeni syr (fried cheese with tartar sauce). You wouldn't think that tartar sauce would work with fried cheese, but it does. All of the...food was delicious. The service was great as well. My husband speaks very little Czech and mine is non-existent, but we felt very welcome there. The beer was great as well. We would definitely visit this restaurant again the next time we are in Prague.More

We were staying at Andel Apartments just around the corner n felt we should support their restaurant as well. We booked a table for 7 o’clock for the two of us at a table inside at the back. On entering around the side we enquired...of a waitress where our reserved table was? Ok we don’t talk Czech but the response was “Sit anywhere!” No smile, no greeting! We chose a table n within 30-45 minutes all the tables were full so I would definitely recommend booking. This was on a Wednesday so not a night you would expect to be busy. I’m not surprised they are busy as the food is very good. The menu features typical Czech food so we chose the pork knee n beef roulade. The later was served with rice n the former with bread. Personally I found it a bit of a protein overload n would liked to have seen some vegetables on my plate but notwithstanding my personal view I have to say the pork knee was substantial n well cooked. My partner ate the crackling n said it was scrummy! The service let it down. The waitress we met on arrival was covering our end of the restaurant n tbh was just so not cut out for customer service ( she did have a name badge but I’m not into naming n shaming) .She barely spoke, never smiled n we just felt she took our custom for granted. This type of service became prevalent in other food establishments throughout our trip but we know it’s not everyone. The waitress at the other end of the restaurant for example ( who had blue hair) seemed a lot friendlier n even helped us out at one stage when we were waiting for our moody waitress to return. We decided to have dessert n opted for a chocolate molten style pudding n apple strudel.More

We found this place right after we checked-in in our apartment on arrival in Prague as it was one of the closest place. Didn't seem expensive, so we decided to search no more as the weather wasn't very pleasant. And this is how we dined...there 4 out of 5 evenings (we decided to try a different place one evening just for a change). Great food, awesome I might say! I was more impressed by the food as a whole in Prague than by the beer but what do I know :D Service is also great, there was only one of the waiters that was a bit bitter but it was ok. Very reasonable pricing. They serve Pilsner if you're looking for draft beer and each month they have a different beer as a brewmaster's choice but this one finishes very quickly. Bottled beers are some dark Kozel and some non-alcoholic ones.More

We dined here twice during our recent visit, following a recommendation from the landlady of our holiday apartment round the corner. We sat outside in the courtyard, which was lovely during the hot weather. On our first visit - Saturday evening - the restaurant was...busy, predominantly with locals rather than tourists. Great atmosphere, but the service was rather lacklustre. Our waiter seemed to find it an inconvenience having to serve us - you could practically hearing him huffing and sighing while taking our orders! The food made up for it though - we had a long casual dinner and several rounds of drinks. Started with beer cheese and pickled sausage as appetisers, and then shared the pork knuckle as our main course. All delicious, and the pork knuckle was perfectly cooked with crunchy crackling and melt in the mouth meat. It was served with bread, horseradish and mustard - we perhaps could have done with some extra pickles and/or cabbage, to cut through the richness though. HUGE portion, as is tradition, we just about defeated it but were absolutely stuffed by the end. We visited again on the last day of our trip, for a quick lunchtime bite to eat. This time I am pleased to say that the service was friendly and attentive (we think perhaps that the waiter on the first night was just having an off night - it happens to the best of us!) My partner went for the crispy crackling spread, and I had the beef tartare, which was excellent. It came pre-prepped and pre-seasoned (I typically prefer to mix my own) but it had a well balanced flavour. Again we sat outside, and enjoyed a couple of rounds of drinks with our meal, in the sunshine. Despite the slightly disappointing service on our first visit, we will definitely return to the restaurant Andel when next in Prague. Hearty Czech food done right, in a pleasant casual setting.More

We visited couple of times due to their good beer (we are locals) but the services was rude and terribly slow. Further, even though the food is alright it's not worth the price.
