We booked a table for 4 ahead of our visit to Prague in mid January. We hadn’t quite realised just how far out of the centre of town it was but it was well worth the 15 minute taxi journey and the mere 6 euros taxi fare! On this point we went against the advice of the hotel and booked an UBER which I believe is the cheapest way to get around in Prague - although taxis are generally very cheap. Anyway, back to the restaurant review. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and shown to our reserved table for our aperitif whilst ordering. We were guided through the menu and and variously for starters we ordered Goats cheese salad, beetroot salad and cream cabbage soup with everyone of them hitting the spot perfectly. For me the star of the show was the Braised veal cheeks - so tender and tasty. The ladies had pork tenderloin in a pepper sauce which again was scored as excellent. Two of our party had desserts and the meal was accompanied by a bottle of Czech Merlot (pretty good), a couple of extra glasses and a couple of bottles of Prosecco. The bill came to an incredible £26 per head and when considering the quality of the food and the overall service and ambience of the restaurant was considered to be exceptionally good value for money. All in our party would wholeheartedly recommend Pepr a Sul.

Wow! wow! Wow! I had forums Pwer a Sul on TA and decided we would go there for our first night in Prague. What. A Way to start our vacation. This small restaurant had big flavors with a small price tag. Everything we tasted was delicious We started with the most amazing bread- crusty but with a soft exterior. After gulping down a basket plus. Our appetizers came. My brother in law had the cabbage soup which he. Declared to be delicious. I had the most amazing foie gras creme brûlée. It was $10 and it was the best foie gras I’ve had. For the mains I had a pork specialty and my brother in law had the duck. He loved it. I was happy with my pork and my husband had veal liver and thought it was delicious. We Also had some of the best ice tea we’ve ever had. The Uber was 15 min from our hotel (The Grandior) but the bill was only $6– totally worth the trip. Do not pass this place up. It is simply the best !

The mix of all starters (tapas-style) was well-plated with many tasty flavors. It also came with a bread basket of several different bread types. The cinnamon pancakes with blueberries were also delicious. Service throughout was prompt and efficient. Great experience and would definitely visit again.

What can be said that other haven’t? We shared the mixed starter so tried things we wouldn’t normally eat, the beef tartare was fantastic but our favourite was the beetroot. For main course I had the ribs and my wife the duck, both were picture perfect and tasted fantastic. The ribs fell off the bone and melted in the mouth with a lovely stick sauce and perfectly dressed salad. The duck was soft and medium rare complemented by sweet potato mash that was tasty without being overpowering. Service was spot on and the atmosphere was friendly with lots of people enjoying their evening, not bad for a Monday night! It’s a good distance from the tourist sights but well worth £5 or £6 in an Uber!

A lovely restaurant, we emailed to reserve a table and while they were busy on one day, they responded and were happy to book us in the following day. Very attentive and helpful staff who gave good tips on what food to order. The food itself was all fantastic and the wine was also top quality. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a good quality meal and the prices were very reasonable for the standard of food and service.

Positives: Creative cooking that enhanced the ingredients making dishes a pleasure to savour. Talented chef who uses plenty game and fresh produce. One of our favourite restaurants from all our travels. Service staff are warm, experienced and professional. Like the postcard idea where one can write a postcard from the restaurant and the staff post it complimentary for you. Negatives: Paté for bread and wild boar sauce were both delicious, but a bit too sweet which clashes with a good red wine and lingers on the palate. Would get a dimmer for the brass lights above tables, as it is too bright and place some candles on the tables to bring in a bit of warmth. Well worth a visit, will be returning.

Awesome, no more words needed for this place: 15 minutes from the city center, easily reachable with the underground; the meet is perfectly treated and served, good choice of drinks and wines, and definitely cheap compared with the most of the restaurant located in the center of Prague. Their welcome will conquer you. Grazie mille per la serata, from the Italian couple🇮🇹

My husband and I ventured out of the old town and hopped on a tram to go to this great little restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable, the ambiance was good, simple clean lines, tastefully decorated. Started with some Prosecco, had an amazing cabbage soup, a few lovely glasses of red wine, and then delectable steak dinners, perfectly cooked. Truly was our best meals we had in Prague and pricing was very reasonable for the quality. Whenever we return to Prague, we will definitely be back!

The dinner we had was a wonderful experience, in terms of atmosphere, hosting experience and of course the food! We came from different parts of the world, Poland, France, Japan, and we all were enjoying the delicious meals, advised by our host. If you are in beautiful Prague, you absolutely need to visit this place. I cannot wait to visit again!

Dinner at the Pepř a Sůl restaurant was the culinary highlight of our stay in Prague. The cozy restaurant is located a little outside the city center, but can be reached quickly by subway (yellow line, Vysočanská station). They mainly serve traditional Czech dishes, so meat eaters will get their money's worth. We first shared a large starter plate with meat and cheese appetizers, all of which were excellent. For the main course, we chose roast duck with a local rosé wine, as is traditional on St. Martin's Day, and a breaded veal schnitzel with potato salad. The duck and rosé wine were wonderful, it couldn't have been better. The veal schnitzel was a little dry, but still delicious. The portions were so large that it was impossible for us to have dessert. At least there was enough room for a local digestive schnapps at the end. The service staff were very attentive, quick and friendly. Conclusion: Both the food and the service were excellent. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Rarely has a restaurant earned our 5 stars as much as the Pepř a Sůl restaurant. We will definitely return!

I do like this restaurant a lot. Used it about 3-4 times in the last couple of weeks and have to say that I did enjoyed it thoroughly. Just avoid asian dishes :D, Pepř & Sůl is the best when it comes to traditional Czech cuisine.

One of the BEST restaurant I have ever visited! The restaurant offers amazing meals, especially unbelievably tasty prepared meat. All of us very absolutely content. The service is also great. And the prices are the same as in this cathegory but the meals are on the next level. We all really recommend. Definitely we will come back!

We had an amazing deal here last night. Service was really good and food was both tasty and extremely affordable. My husband and son shared the sharing starters dishes which were well presented and equally delicious. I took the steak tartar which was brilliant - it had small pieces of chopped cornichons which really elevated the dish. For mains we took - the lamb knuckle, veal cheeks, rabbit leg and flank steak. All were devoured quickly and were so tasty. My sons took the pancakes and blueberry compote for dessert which took a matter of seconds to disappear. A truly wonderful night in a great restaurant

Lovely restaurant just outside city centre. We took metro Line B from Mustek to Vysocanska (6 stops, 12 mins, 30czk) and then a 2 min walk to restaurant. Mirek was the perfect host and we had an excellent meal of Lamb, Pork Ribs etc. along with Prosecco, Wine and Coffee. Portions are large so we skipped dessert. Well worth the short journey on metro.
