Lots of local people in a fine historical building. There is outside seating for warmer months. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was tasty and good. Beer was of course excellent and there was a good selection.
Food was hit and miss. Cheese and soup as starter were bland and boring. Pork ribs as main were excellent, salad was average. Chocolate cake was ok. Waiters are rather inattentive, but not unfriendly. Overall inexpensive (40€ for 3 courses for 2 people and 5...beers) and an ok place to eat (they also have a very nice outside seating), but don’t expect anything special.More
My husband and I enjoyed a great Sunday lunch here. Service was friendly, professional, and offered in English and/or German, which made things easier for us. We shared the wonderful garlic soup, which was perfect for a cold afternoon, then my husband had a chicken...Caesar salad and I had wonderful smoked duck with baked potatoes and gravy. For dessert, we split blueberry cheesecake.
I loved the interior of the restaurant, with its cavernous ceiling and wooded bar. I also loved the music they were playing, which was heavy on classic rock. I could have sat there all day and drank beer. I wish we had a place like this in our town because I'd become a regular.
The prices were very reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. That garlic soup was a killer. Highly recommended!More
With some friends we ended up over here for lunch during Pilsner Fest. We were seated completely in the back in a nice corner with view over the rest of the restaurants. The restaurants was about half full creating a nice atmosphere. I think we...were the only foreigners in the restaurant at that moment.
The beers were served very quickly. We ordered steak tartar for starter and pork ribs as main. The portion of steak tartar was rather small, but tasted very good. Big was our surprises that when we just rubbed some garlic into the bread, it tasted delicious. So we ate the rest of the roasted bread like that. The portion of pork ribs also looked rather small. Fortunately, it tasted great. The meat fell off the bone. I enjoyed it to the last bite.
Service overall was very friendly and professional. We were a mix of different nationalities and one waiter was taking order in three different languages.
I want to return here in summer when the terrace is open. We were now inside, next to the terrace and we all agreed we should return when the weather allows to sit outside.More
Very nice restaurant that serves traditional Czech food and unfiltered! Gambrinus beer.
Very attentive, English speaking staff.
We had at delicious Caesars Salad and a steak tartar that was supposed to be "a small snack to go with beer" but was in fact a full...meal.
There is a nice beer garden at the back that unfortunately can be disturbed by a neighbour practicing on bongos.
Besides from that a very pleasant experience.More
Visited this establishment for lunch with kids (7 and 9). Being in the Czech Republic the beer was fresh and tasty. All of our meals were tasty and well worth the money (rabbit, veal cheek, goat cheese sandwich, grilled vegetables). The restaurant had a very...local atmosphere to it. The friendly staff were able to speak to us in German and English.More
within walking distance to the downtown square and hotels, this local restaurant came highly recommended by the receptionist of the palace hotel. we were the only foreigners there. the waitstaff speaks either english or german. we had no problem ordering our food (venison and schnitzel)...and by far the best pilsner dark beer that we have had during our 3 weeks of travel. we prefer good local restaurants, and this is a good one. give it a try when you are in Pilsen.More
