While I have been regular Customer in El Cid last few month I realized it was high time to share my appreciation for the place and particularly the food. The menu while not extensive is regularly offering new dishes which is good when you become...regular. Was never disappointed by any of my choices and today particularly enjoyed Calamari in black sauce as a starter as well as Maminka Veal as main course. Both were simple dish but so well executed and so tasty. El CID is definitely the best alternative to more traditional Czech brasseries in a much more quiet but warm environment with a nice park surrounding. Thank you. Keep doing a good jobMore

Visited the place in January, during cold and snowy day. The place turned out to be nice and cozy. We ordered mussels, and mixed seafood, and mussels and shrimps mixed grill. We found all the food fresh and tasty . I myself liked gravy that...was added to my mussels a lot and finished it with bread;)More

I am living in Pilsen, after long time I visited this restaurant again. The park next to it is quite nice, so sitting at the terrace is good choice. This restaurant is one of the more expensive in town, so my expectation was also high....As a start I got shrimps. On the big plate were just 4 small shrimps and they did not look quite fresh. The taste was not extra ordinary. U have to order baguet because it is not included in the starter. As main course I ordered mussels with white wine. Again it comes without bread, the mussels were almost cold from the beginning. So the food was not as good experience. Lets say sth. about the service. At the beginning we ordered aperitif, empty glasses stayed at the table the whole time till the end. The same was with empty plates after we finished the meal. The staff was not busy at all, they just did not care. This restaurant has great potential, but next time I choose different restaurant, there are definitely few better ones. I will maybe try in few years again.More

Was here to gran lunch before our pilsner uqurell tour. The service was nice, but slow and not attentive. They were more interested in talking to each other. Food was good.

I spent a very nice evening here, but when you travel to Pilsen you should sample the typical Bohemian / Czech cuisine.

Not sure why we picked a Spanish restaurant in the Czech Republic, but we were hungry and thought tapas would be just enough to tide us over until dinner. The orders are small but the Tapas Mixta (octopus, prawns, langoustine) tasted good...just fussy to have...to peel there shrimp. The Filipino soup tasted more like Thai (coconut, mild curry flavor) but hit the spot. Service was cheerful but typically somewhat slow (bring us a cold beer, we'll be happy to wait for the rest!). There are lots of other choices in this area of Plzen.More
