Good old Czech pub

Cozy restaurant in the historical center of Kutná Hora. The interior reminds countryside pub. The place can be bit noisy if full, but this adds to atmosphere. The service was very nice the night we visited the place, but the number of waiters was bit low and we had to wait slightly longer than expected to order our dish. Both roasted duck breast with potato - puppy purée and rabbit leg were brilliant. They serve well tendered Pilsner Urquell beer. The red house wine was quite good as well. Overall, this place leaves a very good impression and it can be recommended to anyone looking for good old Czech pub with traditional cuisine and great beer.

The whole experience was great. Staff was kind, atmosphere was calm, yet lively and the food was amazing. For starter I’ve had rabbit paté wrapped in bacon with toasted bun, which was simple, yet great. It was well seasoned and came with a small salad, which complimented the paté. As a main course I’ve hat their Flap Meat (medium rare), which was just as described in their menu, beautifully tender, juicy with great taste and aroma. The color and texture were just right, feast for both eyes and belly. I chose steak fries as a side, which were served in a separate bowl and the portion was big, but I can’t complain about that, since they were fresh and crispy and they went so well with their homemade tartar sauce. Overall, I’d recommend this place for anyone who’s nearby. You won’t regret it.

Decent food, nice setting

Good selection of food, both local and I guess one would say American given the burgers. The beef cheeks were great. The couple next to us ordered the ribs (for one person) and it looked as if the pile on the plate would feed a family of 10. You shoulda seen the look on her face. Fun “back story” to the legend of the restaurant name as well. I’d say the big critique on my part would be hoping for a larger beer selection.

Beautiful garden and mediocre steak

We visited restaurant during lunch hours and were seated outside in the garden. The garden is a really nice place with children playground. Now it starts to get ugly. Staff is disorganised, they have no idea if you wait for the order or to pay and they are not afraid to ask, but their behaviour is friendly and ok. Waiting for everything was unpleasantly long (even when they had to keep some tables empty because of covid regulations). Order for soup got lost somewhere in their system, we asked to bring it together with the main meal. They almost apologised. Schnitzel was really good, steak unfortunately not - too chewy and the sides were kind of bland (some potatoes and mustard sauce). Definitely not worth the money.

An excellent lunch as part of our visit to Kutna Hora

Prague Food & Fun Tours (highly recommended!) brought us here as part of our tour to the area. Our guide Vladimir explained all the choices, including the excellent beers. The waitresses all seemed very friendly. I had a kind of potato soup to start with a poached egg in it - simply delicious, then a local beef dish with cream sauce and dumplings. There wasn't much room for desert but we shared some cake and vanilla sauce (custard!). The beer was great too and I would be more than happy to come here again. From the pretty garden it is a scenic and easy walk up to the stunning St Barbara's Cathedral.

We stopped here on the recommendation of my wife, who already knew this place, during our trip from Dubrovnik to Vienna. Although we arrived rather early in the afternoon, the restaurant was busy. Nevertheless, we easily found a cozy spot under the old trees on the terrace. The service started a little slowly, but continued over the course of the afternoon in an extremely friendly and committed manner, in both English and German. We ordered the duck breast and the ribs, and everyone was delighted with the quality of the food and the service. The crowning glory of our dinner was the lava cake and some espressos for dessert, which made our stay especially sweet before we continued our journey. The restaurant "Restaurace V Ruthardce" is really a beautiful place, ideally located, and the staff are extremely committed and friendly. We can recommend it without reservation and will certainly come back. Thank you very much!

We were recommended this restaurant by one of the ladies selling tickets for the ossuary. Thank you for a great recommendation. Interesting history to the site and wonderful food, especially the dessert made from local chocolate. Staff were very warm and friendly and lovely warm atmosphere. Thank you. We loved it

Beautiful restaurant with tasty food

Amazing restaurant. First of all, the restaurant's location is perfect, with a lovely view of the cathedral. We sat on the terrace which is very pleasant, hidden in the shadows and with shrubbery all around which creates a very nice, natural atmosphere. The food is tasty, we ordered the halloumi and pulled pork burgers with fries and were completely content. Regarding staff, everybody was very nice. 5/5, would definitely recommend going there if you happen to visit the beautiful city of Kutná Hora.

Great food, great service

We made the reservation in advance via the website, the confirmation of the reservation came within a few hours :) In the end we needed to rebook to an earlier time, which was no problem - very friendly staff. The environment is very cozy. Airy, you feel like you have privacy, thanks to which we had a very nice chat (the visit of a competitor the previous day did not allow us to do this). Great dinner, soft meat, excellently seasoned side dish. Halloumi burger excellent. Beautifully cold elderberry lemonade. The service is terribly nice, smiling (all of them, very pleasant). The lady who served us occasionally asked if everything was okay (it was nice that she didn't come every five minutes, but you could see that she liked her job and "knew it"). We would love to come back here. Because of the food, and because of the people who serve. Nice experience :) Yes, IQOS friendly :)

Delicious food, friendly waiters and beautiful garden

They were really friendly and helpful with us. I ate a kulajda soup and duck breast with mashed potatoes, they were both delicious. I never ate in my life a better duck breast, I highly recommend them. The garden of the restaurant is also beautiful.

Great stop for a satisfying lunch

On the recommendation of a local resident, my husband and I stopped here today after visiting the cathedral. We received a friendly welcome and were seated immediately. Service was very attentive throughout our meal. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. Very authentic Czech food and we were not surprised to see many locals in the restaurant with us. It was a quiet day in the town but the restaurant is clearly a local favourite. The chicken schnitzel was excellent as was the goat cheese salad. My husband enjoyed the dill and mushroom soup with poached egg. We enjoyed ourselves and will return on our next visit to Kutna Hora.

Amazing food

Restaurace byla plná, ale naštěstí jsme byli jen dva a milý personál pro nás místo našel. Jídlo bylo skvělé, atmosféra též. Rádi místo navštívíme znovu, ale příště radši s rezervací. The restaurant was full, but we were only two, so the staff managed to find a place for us. The food was amazing, the place was lovely. For our possible return we will reserve a table.

Certainly one of the best restaurants in the Czech Republic. Very good food and service. I recommend beef tartare - very good quality meat. In addition, a beautiful garden with open air or covered places. Extremely charming place. It is a pleasure to visit this restaurant. I sincerely recommend.

Friendly staff, food (goulash) was excellent, beverages were served quickly. The restaurant was full, but we found one table. Long waiting time (40 minutes), which, due to visitor count is understandable. A positive experience and I will definitely return to this place
