The restaurant took its name from Mikulas Dacicky (1555-1626), a city's important citizen at that time. In the 16th century his family founded guess what?! ... a brewery, of course! and created the beer with the same name. The current restaurant is newer, it's only about 200 years old! We enjoyed traditional Moravian Kyselica Soup served in nice porcelain bowls, smoked goose breast with pear salad, fried smoked cheese with Tartar Sauce and French Fries and, of course, the beer of the house. Everything was delicious and for a reasonable price.

A very nice restaurant and brewery close to St. Barbara cathedral with a nice garden seating with big trees. The owners were very hospitable and the traditional Czech food was really enjoyable. The homemade ice tea is one of the best I have ever had. The duck, roasted vegetables, and the schnitzel were perfect. The prices are very reasonable. I recommend it highly.

We stumbled upon the restaurant on a day trip to the city. As soon as we entered through the old heavy wooden door the atmosphere excited us. Heavy wooden benches, paintings on the walls, a chandelier hanging from the roof and a big stone fireplace, added to the environment. The plate portions where big enough, the beer was cold and the food tasted, delicious. The staff was super helpful, they spoke basic English, but it wasn't hard to communicate. Definitely value for money, if you take under consideration the medieval touch it leaves to the visitor. Will visit again

We waited 40min for food. Had to ask the staff what's going on after we noticed that people who came after us where long eating. We were told that it will take another 15min. Only after we asked they admitted the waitress forgot to pass our order. When it finally arrived, the waitress just shoved the full plate into my hands (there was more than enough space to go around and place it on the table). The food was ok. Considering the price, we have eaten better in Prague City center. After we denied free coffee they offered 10% discount. However when they brought the bill, they did give us 50% off. The manager came to apologise and was very nice. After all, I would not go there again. The manager saved the day but unfortunately the rest of the staff was tragic.

We were lucky enough to get a table (we gave our name and came back half an hour later) despite lots of tour groups. The lunch was so delicious, seemed very traditional but lots of options with great flavours. Would highly recommend! Wish we could have gone back more but we’re staying in Prague. Definitely the best Eastern European we’ve had here!

A welcome find on a chilly day wandering Kutna Hora. We were met with a friendly welcome, and found a table to peruse the menu. I went for a veggie option of mushrooms and potato which was amazing and perfect warming food for a sharp January day, washed down with a tankard of pillsner! My husband had lamb shank with red wine braised mushrooms, and needless to say it went down very well! The value for money was astounding, and the service and atmosphere were perfect. Worth the trip to Kutna Hora from Prague just to eat here!

I took a day trip to Kutna Hora from Prague and walked the 40 minutes from the Sedlec Ossuary. This is a nice traditional style restaurant close to St Barbara’s Cathedral and I sat by the cosy fireplace. Staff were friendly and efficient. I had the roast duck with red cabbage and dumplings - very good, tender and a big portion size though I would’ve preferred crispier skin.

We went here as part of a day trip. The food and service was excellent. I ya free fiery goulash with bread dumplings and it was delicious. My wife had the spinach pancakes which she liked. Our party was about 20 and I didn’t hear anyone complain. Beer was very good too. Would return in a beat.

A couple of days ago we decided to take a trip from Prague to Kutna Hora, mostly to visit Dacicky,my favorite Czech restaurant where we've been to about 5 times over the last years. The place is very large, can accommodate plenty of people (in fact, there were two Italian groups), has a lovely middle-age decor and feel to it, and a very wide menu for every taste. We chose a boar goulash, a turkey dish and a duck as mains, and a couple soups as starters. The soups were outstanding, very warming after having been outside in the cold. The mains had mixed reviews; my goulash was delicious and plentiful, same for the turkey breasts, while the duck lacked the usual crispy skin. We told the waitress at the end but she shrugged it off. Most Italians took the duck so I suppose that's why it was a miss. As dessert I took a strudel, and this was another miss. It was waaaaay too soft, the filling okay but the whipped cream had melted and cause a soggy mess. Wish I hadn't taken it. Service was quick but a bit curt,as the waitress seemed angry. Overall still a good restaurant, definitely the best in the area, but it can be improved.

Visited here with my wife and 1 year old boy in April 2013, and left a five star review stating this was one of best meals I have had. Travelled to Prague for a few days in Jan 2020 with my now 8 year old boy and his 6 year old brother. Food just as good as I remembered it. Stunning. We all had mushroom soup, wild Boar Golash and gingerbread dumplings and fruit tart. I had a weiss beer and boys had hot apple drink. All was amazing. Food very filling. Value amazing. Ambience lovely. We stayed for a couple of hours and didnt feel any pressure to leave. Fully recommend!!!

We were taken here by our guide at the end of our tour to the area. Great choice. It wasn't busy at the time of our visit, and a lot colder than the city. All the streets here are really pretty and worth a walk around if you have time. The food and drink was very good, lovely staff and service. Plenty of choice on the menu. A beer tasting tray of 5 is available with a card describing each beer in your language. Don't forget to add 10-15%

We enjoyed our stop at the end of our tour to this restaurant. The servers were efficient and friendly. The food was delicious - I had the Moravian cream soup I the bread bowl. The décor and cozy feel of the restaurant was very appreciated on a winter's evening.

I was amazed. As a true fan of an oldschool restaurant and cafes which tell a story about its history, I absolutely enjoyed having lunch in Dacicky. Both and food and ambience got me and if somehow life gets me back to Kutna Hora I will absolutely visit it again and show it to people who acompany myself. Cheers.

I have visited this place twice and both of the visits were great experience. The beer here is really exceptional and last time I had the black beer which was full and rich. For food I had smoked cheese, crisps and homemade tartar sauce. It was very tasty and I was so full but I really wanted to eat it all 😂 I overate and my stomach was in rage. It was THIS good! Even though we didn't have reservation we got seated and the food was served quickly. The place itself looks interesting with old Slavic theme and food is exactly like that. You have a lot to choose from. The staff was nice as well. I'll be back!

The food is AMAZING here. We ordered multiple dishes from the menu and all of them were delicious and the portions are big. I tried the potato dumplings with shreded duck and white cabbage and it was the best meal I have ever had in the Czech Republic.
