The food is overpriced at average taste, the staff is unwilling and slow, you can hardly communicate in Czech. They are thieves, we had bought a discount voucher in advance and after ordering the meal they told us that they do not accept vouchers because they poors have to pay taxes in our country and vouchers are monitored by Czech government. A band of thieves!More

The food was very good, and we had a piece of naan bread left over, so the server asked if we would like to take it with us. She brought a piece of aluminum foil to wrap the naan bread. Our bill was 924Kč, of...which way 10Kč for a piece of aluminum foil. When I questioned this I was told it is the owners policy. I informed the server to relay to the owner they have lost two customers and I hope more customers over their idiotic decision to charge 10Kč for a piece of aluminum foil to customers who just left nearly 1000Kč.More

Hradec is my family's home town and I have probably walked by this place many times without dropping in. Should have come sooner! The owner served us personally being both friendly and attentive. He was quite intrigued upon hearing that we were from Canada. We...just had some basic dishes - Lamb Biriyani, Butter chicken and a lentil dish that the owner recommended. The Biriyani was tame on the spicy scale but very aromatic. The butter chicken's sauce was on the sweet side but nevertheless attracted much dipping of the naan. We ended up getting a second order of naan! The recommended lentil dish was delicious with an interesting almost nutty flavour. We washed it all down with some properly poured, fresh and cold Budvar. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Hradec (which has been quite often lately).More

Had an early evening meal. Service was fast and efficient, but a smile or two would have been nice. Meal was good quality and tasty, prices are slightly higher than another Indian Restaurant close by.

I read about this restaurant on the Internet so I decided to have lunch there. When I came in, no one was there, so I picked a table by the window. It was a table for three. The waitress was friendly and because I didn't...have much experience with the Indian cuisine, she helped me to choose right food for me. When I already ate, I heard that someone abuse her, because she let me sit at the table for three. At that moment there were only two people and I at the restaurant. When I heard it, I felt like an unwelcome guest. And more unwelcome, when that man, who abused the waitress put on my table a sign "Reserved" when I was still sitting and eating there. It was totally unsuitable and unprofessional. This action offended me. Yes I understand, if the place is busy and full of people, it's common to sit at the table for two when you are only the one. But there were almost no one. However, the service was great and the food was good. Especially vegetable soup was really tasty. I had Paneer Lababdar as main course and it was good too. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was good as well. Even though the food was good, I'm not going to visit this restaurant anymore because of that man's behavior.More

The restaurant is very nice, with delicious meals and the owner is a very kind person. The city has very few options for vegetarian people like my husband and I, so we visited the Royal Maharaja twice while we were here in vacation. Be careful...when they ask you about your spicy preference. When they say the meal has extra spicy taste, it is really true. I will return there when be back in Hradec Králové, for sure.More

We visited restaurant during our holiday in Hradec Kralove for lunch. We decided to try "all can you eat" for 115 kc, which is fair price. Selection was not so big, one soup, one form of chicken in mild sauce, spinach, sauteed veggie, basmati rice,...noodles and flatbread, some salads and oniom rings. But that doesnt matter, the food was delicious and well made. Staff was polite and helpful. Recommend.More

Really nice place to have some of the best Indian in the Czech Republic. Good multicultural service and perfect location.

I've eaten a lot of Indian food in many countries and this is good food. The service is casual but really friendly and fast, the waitress was literally skipping around the room. The atmosphere is good, again casual and relaxed but clean and comfortable. I...had Samosa to start and they were really good, then Garlic Naan and Lamb Madras. The Madras had plenty of heat, which was what I was after, be aware these are not 'tame' curries, they pack a punch and if you're not experienced with hot food go with the mild stuff on the menu, the little chili symbols are true! The only down side was the only beer available was Bud .. not Indian (Cobra or Tiger) in stock, which was a pity, but maybe just a temporary thing. The best part was the Kulfi for desert, this is pure heaven and probably the best I have ever had. Really worth a visit and from a cost perspective my meal was very affordable.More
