We have been coming here for lunches and suppers for many years, first with small, now teenage kids. Lovely olde worlde wooden interirior with Czech memorabilia (brewery signs etc) on walls, good hearty food, great beer. We always go for pork or duck with zeli (cabbage) and dumplings or fried cheese. Not haute cuisine, but good filling fare. Big tables... More

We were there at 4 in the afternoon for a late lunch. One of the staff sat us inside but never appeared again. Looking at the menu, a few items were cross out being not available. After waiting for awhile, we called another server to order. The one menu item my wife wanted was not available. So she asked the... More

This is a pub rather than a restaurant but they have a varied menu of appetizers and main dishes. I had their grilled trout (whole) which was absolutely delicious served with boiled potatoes. There's no fanfare here...just great home cooked food without the big price tag. It's a place favored by the locals rather than tourists. Don't expect anything fancy... More

Can't say that the service is top notch - you're likely to get disinterested staff present you menus and take your orders. But what it does well is the food. You'll have a plate piled with boiled potatoes and salads with your mains. And oh, the cheese is something worth coming here for! Had their very good fried blue cheese... More

My favorite part of eating here was sitting with other people that were from South Korea. We ordered our meals and spent the time sharing our experiences. We were told the food was local czech food and from what we gathered, it was. It seemed to be very busy and you get a large portion for the money. I think... More

Sat family style with Czech couple and really enjoyed. Spicey pork was good, along with Munich sausage. This place was hopping on Rainey afternoon, while others were empty.

Not exotic, rather traditional fare done simply and with flavour. Prices are very cheap, meals large and service can be a bit sluggish. However the two staff are kept busy all day. Many locals use this as their restaurant of choice, so it pays to book a table especially at lunch time. Given 24 hours notice they will also cook... More

Everybody recommended me this place (walking tour, people and hostel), but the waitresses were not nice, not rude but not friendly. I felt like I was disturbing them. The food was ok, I took the fried cheese and potatoes. I had a nice time because I met some super nice travelers, but if it wasn't for them, I don't think... More

We went to the restaurant following recommendation of a free tour guide we took. We had several typical Czek dishes like fried cheese and roast duck with dumpling, all very nice and much reasonally priced than many of the places we saw in the city.

Nice local restaurant/pub. If you after fancy food likes of burgers, pizzas and all the western food, well go elsewhere. This is as Traditional local food as it gets. Goulash, Snitzel, Duck, Beef with Cream sauce and dumplings so on, so on. Good service, excellent value for money, beer was just wonderful so was the wine. Place locals go to.
