We had a bad experience here. My friend and I both ordered lasagna. When it arrived, the waiter told us it was hot. We both waited a bit and blew air on the dish. Mine was hot, but not overly hot, but my friend's was...far too hot to be served. My friend burned her mouth very badly on the lasagna dish--she actually developed two blisters on the roof of her mouth. We kept asking the wait staff for ice, but kept getting ignored. To be fair, we all finished our food while waiting for ice--and of course, the lasagna naturally cooled off. I finally found the manger/owner. He was very dismissive. His response was, why did my friend eat the entire dish if it was unsatisfactory? We asked if he could take her lasagna off the bill, but he basically laughed at us, said we were warned it was hot, and my friend ate the lasagna. Of course, she ate it. It took twenty minutes to get his attention, she was hungry and the lasagna had cooled. We were told later by a local that the restaurant is popular, and she said the restaurant owner probably felt there was no reason to accommodate us, as their reputation is secure. We were taken by our guide. The maitre d' Mr Radek was most helpful and he gave us a table by the riverfront. We ordered a veg spaghetti and onion cheese rings. A small glass of beer. The young waitress hardly understood the order. The...beer came : half empty due to froth. I sent it back as the barman should have poured without 50% foam. It came back slightly less foam. The spaghetti turned out to be non veg, so back it went. The fresh veg spaghetti was tasteless : no sauce or gravy. It was thin spaghetti and semi cooked. Olive and tomato pieces were scattered around it. I ate half and left it. MrRadek called the taxi and that helped a-lot as it saved us walking.More

We discovered this place while wandering the city in search of slightly better restaurants and our evening experience did not disappoint. The staff were keen to welcome us and really friendly. The menu was mixed Czech or Italian. We had been here a week so...chose Italian and starter and mains delicious, couldn’t fault it at all.More

This is one of the highest-rated restaurants for good reasons. First of all, it sits on the water for some lovely views as you can see in the photos. Secondly, the food is outstanding. In our opinion, the tomato soup was the best we've ever...eaten! My husband ordered the sirloin steak and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the slowly braised beef that melted in my mouth. Both were hefty portions too where we couldn't eat any dessert. Last but not least, the staff was attentive and personable. Overall, if you have the opportunity to dine here, try to make a reservation in advance so you don't miss out!More

We heard good things about Papa's Living Restaurant, and the food was even better than we expected. We had Lasagna, and Braised Beef. Both were excellent. The service was exceptional. The wines, as suggested by the waiter, were superb. I would definitely go back to...Papa's.More

Very rude stuff. We’ve been waiting for 15 minutes to be sitted and when we got our turn server told us he had no free table and he would not have any free table. Apparently didn’ want us there.

Wonderful terrace and great service in the heart of the city. Duck confit was delicious, as well as the tiramisu and the ginger lemonade)

Not many restaurants were open at this time, but luckily this one was. Very nice ambiance, waiters who are very friendly and speak perfect English. The fillet steak, burger and pork dish were amazing. The tiramisu afterwards was also delicious. Due to not being used...to the Czech currency, we gave far too little tip. We apologise for that!More

The service was very good, the staff speak good English, we found the restaurant was clean and tidy. We all ordered different meals, they were all very good. We would be happy to eat here again.

Eating at Papa’s was a great way to end the day in Cesky Krumlov. The food was excellent and service very good. The beer was also excellent, but that isn’t unusual in Czech Republic. My wife had one of the specials, which was a nice...piece of beef, and I had an outstanding warm goat cheese and veggie plate, and then braised beef. Almost too much food, and all of it goodMore

Amazing food, amazing people, great location!!! We get lunch here twice and food was stunning both time. We love this place. 🔝🔝🔝
