We came here as a recommendation from our hotel as a good place to eat. We went for dinner and it was a enjoyable and tasty experience. We had the duck leg, the svíčková and for our kid they had a small menu of schnitzel with potatoes ( no surprise there but at least appreciated they made a smaller portion). All of the dishes were well prepared, tasty and quite towards the big portion size. The service was also friendly and helpful and not too much in our face ( I like for the service to be attentive but not come to my table every 5 minutes) . We even had a table where we managed to put our stroller with the baby. Overall for us was a good experience. For 3 main meals with 2 deserts, and a couple of beers we paid around 45 euros with tip included. Don't know anymore if that is cheap or expensive so everybody can decide on their own. From my point of view it was a good deal for the food we got.

Nice atmosphere and very good food

We had a very good time in the terrace of Papa's. We were only going to have some beers there but, once we saw their dishes we decided to order food as well. Papa's burger was supper yummy and it is served with delicious home-made french fries. Quite good value-to-price ratio, especially bearing in mind the unique location and views.

Comfortable, relaxing and affordable in CK

We visited Papa's ond Day 1 of a two day visit to CK for a late lunch. Being winter, seating was indoors - cozy, warm, and clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to non Czech speakers. We shared the pork chops and grilled vegetables. We also had the garlic bread and gelatto and cappuccino for dessert. All food was good. Service was friendly and dignified, as opposed to feeling like you entered a tourist trap. Most diners spoke Czech, so I took that as a good sign. I recommend Papa's.

Felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman

Entered the restaurant with my friend (both 18) and was ushered to a seat while being told this is a fancy restaurant. On a budget, my friend and I proceeded to ask for tap water which was charged. The food and service was excellent, just bad that the experience started off so rude. Stained my memory of this place - overrated and overpriced

Inviting location with no respect for the customer

The restaurant have quite nice interiors and a beautiful veranda in the side below the castle overlooking the river. It’s immediately clear that claims itself to be a classy and elegant place: at the entrance there’s a small stand with a sign that informs customers to wait there in order to be accompanied to the table. We were waiting like two fools for more than 5 minutes without any of the staff who passed nearby, deigning to do anything. So after this first wasting of time we devised to came in, and met two waiters who also didn’t say anything to me. At that stage i decided to take the initiative and after having stopped another waiter, i asked him for a table for two people but i was told that there were no vacancies BUT if we wish, we could sit at a table (obviously bigger) with some people who were already there. Now let's keep apart this attempt to be available and kind toward us, but with reversed roles is an indication of bad service and further lack of respect for the customer: how i say? I have a quiet dinner in a romantic and supposedly classy location with my wife and waiter brings two strangers to the table? What kind of place is it? Not even at the self service of the train station they behave like that... We obviously went away immediately and with no regrets.

Excellent, quick and good natured service. Hot dishes served in 10-15 minutes with local beers almost immediately. Extensive wine list and very reasonably priced local dishes that proved to be absolutely delicious.

Fun Experience

We all 3 adults enjoyed dining at this restaurant in Cesky Krumlov for dinner. The steak was wonderful as well as the wine! Dessert was very interesting with sweetened cheese curds along with a fruit stuffed pastry. Prices and service was great! Best place in this quaint city for dinner.

We had an excellent dinner here. We had a beef noodle soup special and lasagna Bolognese, and beefsteak filet. Everything was delicious and our waiter was friendly and attentive. Make reservations since we lucked out because we arrived early, but there was a line when we left.

Eating at Papa’s was a great way to end the day in Cesky Krumlov. The food was excellent and service very good. The beer was also excellent, but that isn’t unusual in Czech Republic. My wife had one of the specials, which was a nice piece of beef, and I had an outstanding warm goat cheese and veggie plate, and then braised beef. Almost too much food, and all of it good

Such a nice atmosphere and great food

Really enjoyed dinner here, there is a great view onto the Vltava river. Waiters were nice, food was tasty but the choices were rather limited which was a shame. Service was very quick, and they accept card which is a rarity in this town so that was really convenient.

Delicious!

I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend this April. It was full so we had to wait a few minutes to be seated which was no issue at all. The staff were super friendly which made our experience frustration free. The food was good! My boyfriend got a traditional duck czech meal and I had pasta. Both dishes were delicious. The only reason that I rated 4 instead of 5 is due to the food talking a bit longer than expected to be served. Other than that would definitely recommend!

Very enjoyable!

We visited twice during our short stay in Krumlov. We enjoyed the sunny terrace over the river: it offers a very nice view of the castle and you can hear the church bells of St.Vitt to add to the charming atmosphere of the town. The interior is minimalistic but cosy, the service efficient and good. It's worth to note that the restaurant stayed open until after 9pm in the low season. The food was just delicious, and the servings are very generous, 1 salad or a spaghetti dish enough to complete your meal. All our choices were a treat - especially the tiramisu followed by an espresso. We loved the home-made lemonade, too.

Great food and view and friendly service

What a wonderful find! We dined on the terrace overlooking the river and I had the Czech classic Svíčková na smetaně (beef in cream sauce with cranberries and dumplings), and my wife had a well prepared tenderloin steak which was surprisingly affordable. We washed these down with some excellent Czech beer and had a wonderful evening. Very friendly and helpful service. Highly recommended!

Very good place, but be careful when paying

The restaurant is very nice and the food was also very good and I would actually give it 4-5 points. The only problem was the payment, card or cash in crowns or euros. As it was our last day in the Czech Republic and we had used up the crowns, I decided to pay in euros. The waiter converts at an exchange rate of 20.5, which for a family is already about 20 euros less. It is interesting to know who collects this tax-free, the waiter or the restaurant owner, also for the tax office.

The place to dine in Český Krumlov

This is the restaurant to dine in in Český Krumlov. The service was great and the prices were on par with the other restaurants in Český Krumlov. I had the slow roasted pork belly with Czech dumplings and I can honestly say it is one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant. The location is also great. You can dine outside by the river and watch the rafts and boats go by.
