We probably are not the only ones that almost headed into the place next door selling crepes - head up the staircase towards the castle to find the entrance! When we arrived for lunch, the place was packed, we literally got the last table. Took...a little while to get a menu but after that, service was very quick. We ordered soups as it was a cold day and the rabbit leg. All tasty, would recommend the rabbit and also the ginger/lemon tea.More

Inexpensive, local dishes, friendly staff. Heart of the town. We went and it was nearly empty but who cared the foos and beer were good. Excellent beef cheeks and CZ Xmas Special Carp.

This pleasant cozy restaurant felt touristy being in the heart of Cesky Krumlov, but still had a nice warm ambience, friendly staff, and great food at very reasonable prices(which is all of Czech Republic). Added bonus was the official restaurant dog, a scrappy friendly terrier...mutt whom kept the solo diner some wonderful company. 85CZK/$3.75 Mushroom soup...pleasant warm broth with unique local mushrooms. Light and satisfying. 349CZK/$15.75 Quarter duck confit with rosehip sauce, red kraut, and potato dumplings. The duck meat was so moist and tender! I rarely eat duck because its expensive in America, and they're such cute birds, but in Czech its more common and much more affordable. 54KCZK/$2.50 500ml glass of dark beer...gotta love these Czech prices!More

Very tasty food with generous portions. We had the duck, the two types of beef cheeks and they were all amazing. Combined with a cold Kozel works wonders

This lunch spot was high recommended by our tour guide, Bryce, for authentic Czech food in this authentic medieval town. Dumplings were fantastic and service was excellent. We asked the waitress to recommend dishes unique to the region and they were all excellent!

I would especially recommend the chicken, it was fresh and very flavourful. Came also with a great choice of sauces! Would recommend!

Delicious local cuisine food. Cozy place, warm, good attention. Acceptable prices. You may confuse the place with a crepes place ..but you need to walk uphill to find the entrance.

If you are just interested in having meat Svejk will be great for you. The people we were with had wild boar served with potato salad. Some were pleased, some wanted some vegetables (apart from potatoes). The building is attractive and the service was excellent....My wife and I had their vegetarian meal which we didn't like. It was breaded deep fried cauliflower and boiled potatoes. No protein (beans or something would have been nice) and the way the cauliflower was prepared meant it wasn't a healthy meal at all.More

Ambiance was fine. Seats and tables seem cramped however. Attentive staff . Food served in proper sequence since it was pre arranged as part of the tour package. Pork dish with bread dumpling was a highlight. So was the strudel dessert. Recommended..

We enjoyed this little place so much we went back, something we seldom do while traveling. The staff speak good English made suggestions for a true taste of local food and she was spot on. The mushroom had plenty of substance and flavor but I...removed the dill garnish. The green salad with sheep cheese, walnuts and roasted beets was excellent as was the pork belly with mustard and fresh grated horseradish. We had local half and half beer.More

Good food, reasonable price. Tavern looka like. Pork ribs tender and savoury. If there are no tables available, you may need to share a table. Overall, it's good!! worth trying.

the staff was eztremely bored, and the food was average, we expected a little more from the - i think - most famous restaurant of Krumlov. my advice is dont stop here, search for more authentic places, its easy to find.

We were looking for a place that served roast duck - my Bohemian family favorite. We were also pleasantly surprised to find rabbit on the menu, one of my husband's favorite dinners. We ordered a salad for some extra vegies and were served a huge...plate of deliciousness! Nice wines to accompany the food. Had no room for dessert! Waitstaff is friendly, served with a smile. The decor is traditional as well with nice touched of stained glass. There are several rooms, where a family can go if yo have children with you. One has to go up stairs, so it is not a place for those who need help walking.More

Decent lunch of traditional bohemian soup and a pork special. Apple strudel was very good as the dessert of the day. Service was marginal.

I was there about 6PM on a Saturday in mid-May without reservation. There were plenty of empty tables. Most visitors to Cesky Krumlov were day trippers.
