Heydon looks like a film set, it is the quintessential English village. Overlooking the green and facing the church is this quaint tea shop. As this visit was only a pit stop en route to Blickling, we just had tea / coffee and cake. The...More

Really good food and drink in a very atmospheric village, backed up by first class service. There are many good things on the menu, but the afternoon tea is something else. Well worth planning ahead as this does need to be ordered in advance.

+ves: Lovely, ambient, helpful, restful: deeply, deeply pleasant. -ve: One cake a shade dry and the other a very slightly unconvincing combination of coconut and date. But all else - and especially the waitress's pleasant thoughtfulness - made these minor quibbles irrelevant.

Found the place no.1 for service and surrondings top marks. You were made to feel very at home plus they do have reserve tags on some tables but they will accomodate you providing your arrival is not near the table reserve time.

Excellent high tea, made really welcome, including dog! Much more than enough to eat, a delightful experience. Only way it could have been improved was by the use of loose leaf tea, but that's being picky!

how much does afternoon tea cost

Hello! Our traditional afternoon tea costs £18 per person. This includes unlimited tea / coffee, choice of scone with jam and clotted cream, selection of finger sandwiches, mini dessert and individually made and decorated... More
Singularly unhelpfulfor review for other Trip adviser users! Why on earth would you give a 1 star rating for this delightful tea room when you had not even experienced It! I felt so incensed at this unfairness that I felt compelled to comment - surely Trip Adviser should block such an idiotic nonsensical 'review' given the damaging effect it could potentially have on a small business where the owners obviously work so hard to get their good and well deserved reviews. Incidentally I too had hoped to pay a return visit to the tearoom over the Christmas period (having already visited on several occasions and reviewed it ) but my husband told me it was closed having checked the information on theirr site so I don't know what you had been looking at! At least be fair or keep your unhelpful and unkind 'reviews' to yourself! ..
