My husband and I went for a special occasion. The staff was pleasant and attentive (although we did dine early). All courses were very delish! The game hen with burnt leek; so tasty. I even had two desserts and it was totally worth it. A caution to potential diners: yes the portions are small, however take your time and work... More

This was an old heritage site which was renovated into a first class restaurant 5 years ago.It is probably one of the best restaurants we have ever been at. Decor is absolutely magnificent. The food was exceptional and the service rates a well deserved "excellence". One of their main entrees is Bison Steak which is mouth watering. The whole experience was... More

Quatrefoil is fine dining as you would expect it to be. Excellent staff trained properly and any dish is going to be a treat. Living near by we have eaten there a few times and always had a great evening. It is easy to recommend Quatrefoil.

Since it opens its doors , this establishment was immediately recognized as a special place. In 2010 Enroute ‘s Air Canada’s inflight magazine ranked it in the top 10 best new restaurants in the country. It is housed in a historical building in downtown Dundas, with its gothic revival architecture ,dating from the 1860s with an elegant setting including a... More

Quatrefoil is probably the best restaurant in the Hamilton area. The menu is inventive and the presentation of each dish is always lovely. Most importantly, however, the taste of the food is scrumptious. This is definitely fine dining and the kind of place to go to for a special occasion.

To begin a new tradition within our family it was decided that we would have a great dinner at a "fancy" restaurant after my Father's funeral. Quatrefoil was a new restaurant in Dundas and was receiving excellant reviews. The seven of us were comfortably seated in a private room upstairs. Our waiter was very friendly and quickly took our drink... More

As a quiet couple's dinner, had the cornish hen and wine... absolutely enjoyable! Ordered the prosciutto for appetizer and didn't prefer that. That was a personal preference, I should have read the ingreds more carefully as I believe they served exactly what the menu said. My husband ordered the duck and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely return.

I was in Hamilton recently and wanted an exceptional meal, so as usual I turned to TripAdvisor. Quatrefoil is only a 10 minute drive in lovely Dundas, and worth every minute and more. To say this is one of the best meals ever, almost doesn't do this fine dining establishment service. And speaking of service, this team here are all... More

Never been disappointed with Quatrefoil. They bring together all the elements of a fine dining experience. Attentive but not obtrusive service. A classic French menu that can use more updating. Beautiful setting with fresh flowers on your table daily! Lots of attention to detail. Delicious take on calamari, all though I would prefer a little more dressing. Overall not so... More

Chefs Fraser Macfarlane and Georgina Mitropoulos opened Quatrefoil Restaurant in May, 2010. Since then, the restaurant has been named among the top 10 best new Canadian restaurants of 2010 by enRoute Magazine, and among the top 10 best new restaurants of 2011 in Toronto by Toronto Life magazine. Quatrefoil Restaurant is also featured as a prime dining destination in the 2011 edition of Where to Eat in Canada. Located in the quaint community of Dundas, Ontario, the restaurant offers contemporary French cuisine in a charming heritage home turned modern eatery. Macfarlane and Mitropoulos, a husband-and-wife team, met in the kitchen of Toronto's Scaramouche Restaurant, before heading to Europe to seek out new food styles and experiences. Together, the pair has cooked in some of the best Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe, training under notable chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Gary Hollihead.
