Looking for somewhere that's a real PUB, good food and a warm welcome. This is it. Try the Venison Livers, slightly sweet, succulent and very moorish with gravy & mash. I haven't tasted liver any better. Our friends also were very pleased and the real ale was was perfectly served with 4 on tap. What more could you ask for?

Thank goodness that this is a traditional village pub with proper pub food and not some nasty gastro-pub that is so common these days. Ideally situated for refreshments after exploring the Greywell Tunnel area of the Basingstoke Canal. It's tucked away but not remote, it has a large car park, welcoming staff and a friendly atmosphere. Only lost a point... More

Hi Thanks for you review, we are glad you enjoyed your time at our pub, Just for further reference the nomad menu can be given to you from over the bar. We don't leave them in there as I'm sure you can appreciate they can get very messy with the volume of drinkers we get in that area. please ask... More

Proper pub, real fires and beautiful surroundings. Friendly service and food is amazing (fresh, good portions, well cooked, good variety). Highly recommended.

We happened upon this pub as it was on the Tastecard, and we fancied trying somewhere new in a quintisential Hampshire village. We thought the website to be a little old fashioned but we chanced it, and thankfully we did. Lovely, lovely food with a roaring log fire and great service. We will definitely going back.

Visited here with a walking group yesterday, we had reserved a table for 10 and preodered. Food came quickly and everyone pleased with their choices. I had ham sandwich, ham slices perfect. Friendly staff and it was busy.

I brought a party of thirty people for lunch and we were all deeply impressed with the wonderfulness of the food, the resourcefulness of the service and cheerfulness of the staff. Before that I had reconnoitred the pub with just one other person and were similarly taken with everything about it. Greywell village is a delight and the pub is... More

Having found Odiham Castle as a target for our day out / walk, we parked up and trekked down the canal towpath to the castle ruins. Our off-road pushchair was unhampered by the muddy path and our Westie 'Smurf' following a dip in the canal was starting to look like a pint of Guinness. A quick 4G search on my... More

The publican was very accommodating when we needed to change the time of booking which really helped us out. When we got there (earlier than stated) we were warmly welcomed and went straight to our table. It was a pleasant ambience, a proper country pub with no slot machines in evidence. We are had different meals with generous servings of... More

Very traditional, like going back in time, a very refreshing change from gastro and large family pubs. Lovely log fire, decent choice of wine and a good specials board. The fresh fish is particularly good, I had the pan fried haddock in a creamy watercress sauce with fresh vegetables and it was cooked to perfection. Noticed that they do fresh... More
