After arriving via ferry we strolled up hill along a 20 min walk. We were rewarded at the top with wonderful views out across the sea to Auckland and enjoyed a reasonably priced wine tasting where the delicious wines were expertly explained to us. Afterwards we went to the main restaurant. I ate the lamb and the food was very... More

We visited the Mudbrick Vineyard as part of the Waiheke Island winery tours. This is the first of three wineries on the tour. There is about a 45 minute ferry ride that originates from Auckland that we had to take, which was quite enjoyable with beautiful scenery. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I could have spent an entire day just... More

It's a lovely venue for a garden wedding. Lots of beautiful lavender. Food is pretty good and the tables well decorated. Only a few suggestions: - My partner was given the wrong main meal and dessert altho we had a waiter take individual orders (3 course meal with choices) - The DJ was playing dance music the whole night which... We loved the food but felt they were taking advantage of the tourist who took the ferry to visit. Priced like an expensive dinner restaurant at lunch. No problem if money is no concern. The fresh garden vegetables used were in their dishes were great too.

Have you ever been somewhere so perfect it seems unreal? I wish I could move in there, with that view and the yummy wine and proximity to the ferry terminal. A MUST for your itinerary on a daytrip from Auckland.

Do not go here. Nobody who works there will care. At least they don't while you are there. The single worst meal we had in a three week trip to NZ. Ordered Salmon - was served almost sashimi and was cold. Asked if it might be cooked thru. They took it away and it came back still almost raw. Finally... More

This winery has an incredible view over the island. We enjoyed a glass apiece of the bubbles, sauvignon blanc, and rose. All were delicious. With the parking lot moved up the hill, and parts of this winery closed off to the public, it maybe catered a bit more to its wedding business than the tourists. But still a lovely place... More
