A little burned out on tapas, so we headed upstairs to the dining room and had quite a yummy meal that was quite a good deal. Big menu, had gambones, pollo asado, salad, a bottle of wine, some fizzy water, and desert for around 50 euros. Downstairs was packed and looked like a good time but the upstairs was just... More

I was recomended by a friend to go for tapas and try a local beer they sell. I decided to sit inside as I could see the Chef (a young girl), cooking at her best! The "Zarajo" was so well presented and tasty I nearly asked for two.....Good atmosphere in their cute terrace besides the Cathedral.

Service with a smile. The staff at The Mangana were very warm and friendly. A great place to sit and take in the atmosphere of the square. Usual tapas served with drinks. Recommended is the freshly cooked sausage. Also good for breakfast.

Food is good for the cheap menu del día. Service was ok, even if the waitress who served us was a bit serious. Not unfriendly but serious expressions the whole time. More central location couldn't be.

We visit Cuenca every year for 3-to-4 weeks and have been doing so for the past 10 years. Over the years we have eaten in most of the local restaurants and, without a doubt, Restaurant Mangana is our favourite. The food, particularly from the a la carte menu, is fresh, well sourced and beautifully seasoned and cooked. But what makes... More

We should have known better than to go to a place in the tourist trap zone but we arrived late with many places closing. The food and service we received was well below standard. The chorizo del ciervo was dry and unappetizing. The entrecot consisted of at least a third of fat and gristle. Our comments were left ignored by... More

We stayed at the parador but wanted simple unpretentious Spanish food and this small restaurant had it. The meat was grilled in front of us and to perfection. A great simple fresh salad and wonderful local red wine. Authentic great meal and service.

This restaurant is located on the left hand side of the main square a short distance from the Cathedral. Dining is alfresco in the main but I chose the Steak and a glass of red wine. Both were excellent. The steak had been cooked over wood and the taste was so good. The size of the steak was enormous and... More

The restaurant looks like any of the thousands of restaurants on plazas throughout Spain. We ate at Mangana our first night in Cuenca. As it was a little chilly, the owner lent my wife a wrap to keep her warm. We had pisto manchego, gazpacho andaluz, and solomillo de cerdo a la brasa. The food is nothing fancy but fair... More
