The setting and layout of this restaurant is simply beautiful with a huge tree full of fairy lights the centre piece. The system put in place to ensure it was Covit safe is applaudable. Now to the important part of the review.... the food and service. Staff were warm, welcoming and professional. I had calamari to start which was just lovely and my husband had the sausages which he had to leave some, this was because the portion size was so healthy we thought it was a main and he was nervous about not eating his main of rib eye steak which was a a delicious cut of meat and cooked to perfection. I had the rack of lamb and again it was generous and the chops were thick with plenty of very tender meat. Mains don’t come with any sides and these have to be paid for separately which is a slight irritation especially as this restaurant is at the top end for price. That said we don’t mind paying for quality and this was definitely quality. The chips were home cooked and the honey glazed carrots delicious. We shared a pudding of apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. The apple was a little too sweet and needed some tartness to offset the sweetness of the ice cream. We finished with coffees. We will definitely visit again before we go home and can’t recommend enough.

Firstly, the location is well out of the way if you are considering coming here from the Porches area! Unfortunately our taxi driver failed to advise us of this and we paid more than the price of the meal in taxi fares! Secondly, there was a very frosty reception when we arrived. Our waiter was not very nice, constantly calling my wife "gorgeous" which is incredibly sexist (although she said he was just camp). Service was quite formal and stuffy. The place was full of English people for some reason, felt as if I was in Essex or TOWIE. The actual location is beautiful and my wife's steak was cooked to perfection. The Mac n cheese truffle dish was outstanding. The mash and peas had a taste of England to it, which was strange being in Portugal (although the owner is apparently British). There is a beautiful parilla grill with wood fire burning in the background. Pity as my steak was bloody when I had asked for a medium cooked steak. It was still tasty though hence the four star review. The local Portuguese wines were excellent. So overall a bit hit and miss. You would expect a quality steak restaurant to not turn out bloody meat. The ambience and gardens are lovely but spoiled by stiff service. Lots of groups of friends enjoying themselves here, but for me Hawksmoor restaurants are far superior. The Portuguese are paranoid about wearing face masks which serves to dampen the atmosphere somewhat.

This is my favourite restaurants in the Algarve and the Sunday Lunch doesn't disappoint. It is reasonably priced and you are offered a glass of bubbles on arrival which eleates the experience further. a great meal coupled with a live music makes this a great day out for families, couple of friends. Highly recommend.

After reading reviews and seeing the pictures we was so looking forward to this one. We were seated at a dirty table that the waitress came and wiped After we had been sat at for a few minutes still no cutlery ready for the table the place was clearly understaffed. We asked the girl if she could take a photo and she replied No and walked off.She must have realised how rude she had been and returned a few minutes later saying she would if she got time . We ordered tempura prawns for starter and a scallops which were nice but at 17 euro each starter nothing special. The mains WOW me and my friend ordered mix grill now this us a South American steak house the meat was so chewy it was inedible. We asked the waitress to come over who wasn't supprised about our comments and insisted we had another one cooked. So we nibbled at the sides waiting for another steak plate .15 minutes later with now cold sides and sauces the steak came Again the meat was like chewing a flip flop and had to be returned to the kitchen. The place drops real cold and we asked for a patio heater before any of them were fired up but we're declined . Obviously by the reviews they do something right but not for us last night. Was a disaster from start to finish and wouldn't be recommending the steak to anyone .

Dear unsatisfied customer It is with disappointment that I read your negative review as threatened following our managers discussions and best efforts to resolve the issues at the time of your visit. Parrilla Natural is accredited as a “Clean and Safe” Restaurant. All the correct health and safety measures in terms of Covid prevention are adhered to. Covid hygiene rules state that all tables are to be wiped and sanitized prior to clients taking their seats. Once client is seated, individually packed cutlery and crockery are placed on the table. The wiping of tables is certainly not meant to suggest the tables are dirty but to ensure you, family and friends are best protected. Your waitress is a long serving, pleasant and valuable member of our team. When asked to take a picture of your group, she was waiting on another table in her area. When she finished, she returned to your table to take a photo, but you acted aggrieved and sulkily told her not to bother. Parilla Natural is an alfresco dining experience. We do position heaters amongst the tables, but we do not supply heating individually, however, clients are given the option to sit inside if they are not suitably prepared for alfresco. Parrilla Natural does not serve flip flops!!. We are extremely health conscious. Our Uruguayan beef is to an extremely high standard. Our cattle breeds are Angus and Hereford (or, the cross). The herd is free ranged, grass fed and finished, which takes approximately three years. The controlling “Never Ever” program ensures that the animals are never given antibiotics, growth promoting hormones or fed GMO corn. Our beef is high in vitamin E, Omega 3 and CLA and is packed with nutrients. We are very proud of this fact, occasionally, like any exercised animal, a steak might not be to everybody’s liking, or course if this is not to a clients pallet, the steak is changed, however, I have never, in my sixty years of farming and butchery, come across a fillet steak, even from an old mature bull, that eats hard and is inedible, but we do come across, very, very occasionally, people who try to avoid paying their bill, by making out or magnifying complaints. As a note, the beef used by most steak houses, lives its short life in a feed lot (18 months) it is never exercised. It is fed antibiotics because of its proximity to other animals. Growth promotors are used, and its main diet is GMO grown corn or soy. The product is over intermuscular fat and eats as soft as butter. Parilla Natural will never serve this beef, we would not feed this to our clients or their families as it has no health benefits other than protein but there are plenty of steak restaurants now serving this product, which I am sure you would enjoy. Best regards

I always like to start with a positive, the grounds and restaurant layout very beautiful… now where do I start about just how awful this place was from service to food consistently disgusting. During my 10 day stay we visited once based on trip advisor reviews from last year. Unfortunately something has gone very wrong in the last 10 months as all the previous reviews are certainly not the case now. Unwelcoming, rude waitress Poor quality meats - full of fat and poorly cooked Worst calamari and steaks probably ever had (actually did not have as was inedible) Chicken bland and dry. Spoke with the manager regarding it and whilst it was obviously clear she knew she had a major problem in her restaurant she was consistently trying to defend which was even slightly embarrassing for her but I understand she has a job to do. Obviously the calamari and uneaten mixed grill was taken of the bill but obviously we went there to eat and drink not to be made to feel unwelcome and have no dinner. Also to note while we was sitting there a number of meals were being returned to the kitchen. I would avoid at all cost until they sort it’s issues which they say were due to the current Covid pandemic but to me it’s cost cutting with poor quality meat and cost cutting with limited staff which is causing them to be rude and unhelpful

We should've suspected something about the quality of our steaks when the waiter didn't ask how we would like them cooked. Sure enough they came to our table, in lighting speed after we finished our starters, well done and with lots of fat. We weren't the only dinners to not eat half our meal.

A warm and friendly welcome upon arrival accompanied by a glass of champagne! The setting is so beautiful, it was lovely sitting outside relaxing whilst the efficient Parrilla team served drinks and took orders at a pace which was just perfect. I can wholeheartedly recommend the pumpkin soup, the kind of soup you know without a shadow of doubt is homemade. The roast beef was delicious including the large yorkshire puddings, perfectly cooked vegetables, roast potatoes and dark meaty gravy. The dessert was a visual work of art and the taste a culinary masterpiece (see photos) The pear taste was reminiscent of a tarte tartin, the creme patissiere rested on a thin layer of puff pastry, the vanilla ice cream was served on a bed of crushed meringue, caramel and topped with a homemade brandy snap!! Compliments to the chef!

As per the previous review we were very much looking forward to our evening at Parilla Natural. However, we were clearly invisible to staff on arrival and the front of house was actually quite rude. When guiding us to the bar for pre dinner drinks she walked ahead with her arm around her male colleague without speaking a word to us. The cocktails were good and the place is actually quite stunning. We were shown to our table which was a low cafe style and not entirely comfortable to eat at. We ordered some starters - the empanadas were excellent but the prawn tempura was not crispy. The steaks were good but the accompaniments ‘over dressed’ with too much honey/garlic/salt. We decided not to have a pudding or coffee as we were absolutely freezing cold by this stage with no offer of a heater. The overall experience was disappointing.

I can't recommend this place highly enough, it is so beautiful, a real treat of an experience. Came here with my partner this time but have visited a couple of times previously. The setting is gorgeous, the food was excellent (perfectly cooked steak on the parrilla grill) and the staff were very accommodating. Try the cocktails, the lemon cheesecake martini is to die for! Can't wait to return!

Having been to Parrilla many years ago, we had high hopes for our dinner booking on holiday. Unfortunately, it was really poor and hence felt expensive given the quality was poor. We had to send the lager back twice as smelt of pipe cleaner. The steaks were poor quality, tough and both over cooked. The ribeye was particularly poor. We ordered dessert, they felt like they are bought in. The chocolate brownie was dry, we left 95% of both desserts. After complaining about the beer, we didn’t want to be those people that whinge about everything, so post that point we didn’t say anything. But in hindsight, we wish we had complained as it left a really bitter taste in our mouths. They have lost their way, lost their magic - avoid as you’ll likely be disappointed

We had a family meal here last night and were left disappointed with the food. 3 of us had fillet steak and 1 had ribeye. The quality of the fillet steaks were very poor, they were tough, chewy and in the main not cooked how we had requested. The waiter had changed one and offered later to change another but by then it was too late. Even the replaced steak was poor quality and non of them had the texture or flavour of fillet steak. The starters were ok and the deserts were by far the best. I would like to point out that the service was excellent as are the surroundings but paying nearly €400 euros with poor quality meat is not something we will be doing again.

Extremely disappointing visit. From the moment we arrived we felt the staff be extremely unfriendly. The female manager and one of our waitresses were not helpful or accommodating. We had to ask to be given a menu, ask to order drinks and then ask to order our food! My partner ordered a medium fillet steak which did not in any way look like a fillet steak or it certainly was not cooked to medium! It looked like something that had been cooked early in the night and heated up then and given. There was crispy bits on the skin - there is no way a medium fillet steak should have been liked this! I ordered the chicken and it came out freezing cold. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant, it’s so overpriced and to be given such poor food and service is just appalling. Such a shame as it does have a lovely setting.

Living mainly off its very ornate and magical setting more than its food or service. So much money sloshing around the Algarve that this is just emperors new clothes. Our food was unimaginative and in reality pretty basic with the service somewhat dismissive- I wouldn’t choose to dine here again at the silly prices they charge but I don’t suppose they care since it will always be busy.

We have been here many times over the years, and it was usually the highlight of our holiday. On this occassion we were all disappointed with the level of service, and the quality of the meals relative to the prices charged. The location is still very attractive, but we did question the logic of continuing to support this establishment going forward. Seems a pity as they had some brilliant staff in the past, and were particularly good at handling large mixed age family groups. As we have young children in our party, we always eat early, and in previous years, the management and team would meet before service commenced and get everyone enthused about their upcoming task. This year there just seemed to be a lot of confusion and no real engagement or enthusiasm by the staff. Such a pity.
