We visited on a Sunday evening - busy place - service was diabolically slow - portions minute (the jacket potato was the size of a Jersey Royal) - Food was average - pricing high - then they chucked a glass of wine over us - no apology - not even a free drink - there are at least 50 restaurants... We recently had an evening meal here on a Friday during a weeks holiday in Portugal. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals - everything was cooked to perfection and served beautifully (the Monkfish rice is highly recommended (and is HUGE)). We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and then were recommended a local wine by a waiter which we tried... More

We visited on our first night in the area. Had a table for 10 and seated in an area with lots of similar sized groups. Food was generally good although those that had curries were disappointed. We could have gone back but the general consensus was to try elsewhere. Nothing bad to comment, just no wow factor.

Eight of us (in our 40's) went to Alambique for dinner. The setting is gorgeous, outdoors, soft lighting, beautifully decorated tables beware though wear insect repellant! Menu is almost impossible to decipher in four languages with script font and I'm not kidding! Wine list is more of an inventory! Food wise it was good quality but the dishes are dated,... More

This was our favourite restaurant of the holiday out of a very good selection of restaurants in the Vale Do Lobo area. We asked for a table in the garden which we thought was the best area. Food is amazingly fresh and tasty. We had filet of fish (sole and sea bass) for main and they were huge - perfectly... More

We were recommended this restaurant by friends who had eaten there the previous year. We were not disappointed . Beautiful garden setting , lights and candles all around . Staff attentive and friendly. Food very good with some nice touches. Good cocktails too - recommend the Strawberry Daiquiri. Not cheap but worth it. If any slight comment it would be... More

At night the place is lit up and looks amazing so good start... Lovely people and lovely atmosphere! We were here for 1 week and out of all the pretty high ender restaurants we have been to, this one tops it. 10/10 would recommend. Would highly recommend the Portugal style fillet steak. Few points/issues: -Even though the atmosphere is pretty... More

We had a very tight time schedule as on our way to the airport but staff did their best to rush our order through. Friendly staff, good food and nice surroundings, we will visit again on our next trip to Portugal.

Alambique is a Restaurant to be enjoyed before the mad month of July and after the loony busy August. The restaurant serves Bistro style food, it shouldn't be viewed as fine dining. They are always busy, in July and August it is nearly almost full, all the time! Booking is essential... The food is good but not great, the service... More
