We spent a week in San Giovanni d'Asso in a rental and had the pleasure of eating at this charming small restaurant on two occasions. Both times we had a delicious meal and enjoyed the kind service and great atmosphere. The restaurant inside is more atmospheric and cozy than is suggested by the exterior decor. Donatello cooks up terrific Tuscan... More

If you happen to be in the area of San Giovanni d'Asso this is a great restaurant to visit. They are situated right on the main street and the chef and staff endeavor to offer great food and service. They succeed in both as we ate here twice during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. You will not... More

We've been trying different restaurants while staying nearby. Osteria dell Crete didn't disappoint! We had pork chops, pici (pasta) with cheese and lemon, veal medallions, antipasti, caponata and the puff pastry with marscapone cream and raspberries. All wonderful! Definitely worth visiting again!

Great dishes which offers you a retelling of some traditional Tuscany dishes. The sweets are really a surprise. The wine list is very high level lists. You can enjoy also the aperitifs during the day: the proposed wines and dishes are really able to give you good emotions.

We rented a villa for our family down the street. Their food was wonderful (be sure to try the pasta with truffles) and the family could not have been nicer or more accommodating, even to the point of making takeout meals for 15. This is one of those small family restaurants that make Italy so famous.

We ate here twice and both meals were freshly cooked, tasty and served by friendly warm staff. Wine very inexpensive - our meals came to €25 a head. we will be back

Traditional Tuscan restaurant in the centre of the village. Freshly prepared food with excellent service. Look forward to returning in the future.

You can try different Tuscany dishes and highly recommend to combine with wine. I tried ravioli with pecorino and local red wine. Wine helped to taste pecorino a lot. Try various interesting food and enjoy Tuscany dishes and wine.

This no frills restaurant was a great find! Excellent food, excellent wine. We went three times while staying nearby. Chicken cacciatore, veal, and pastas were a firm favorite

I found this purely by chance whilst driving through Tuscany. The town seemed sleepy and quiet, and the restaurant looked unremarkable from the outside, but (amazingly) many other TA reviewers have also found it! Famous for its truffles, this is an eaterie plus small deli, and the menu was really interesting. Excellent salads, wine at 3 euros per glass, and... More
