Since we had a friend pick us up at Shannon airport, she had arranged for us to have lunch here. A very typical Irish pub/restaurant right on the Weir (river). Thatched roof and everything. Fish and chips and oysters were great. Cool cozy atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here with our group tour. The restaurant itself has great atmosphere, the service was excellent and the food (especially the oyster) were the best. Not to be missed when in Galway.

I am not sure if reservations are recommended. We went on a sunny afternoon & dined outside. There was plenty of space then. I would think that reserving a table might be a good idea.
