You can't beat the fish & chips at Hook & Cook Tea Gardens. We haven't eaten there and not been happy, always go there for lovely fresh fish, the fish cocktails are so yummy and so are the potato scallops! Yummy!!

We were looking forward to fish & chips by the water. Disappointed & won't be back. Quantity yes, quality no. Flathead not crispy & a bit rubbery & oily. Chips not crispy. There have been some good reviews for this cafe, so maybe we had an off day. Certainly not the best seafood we have had between Sydney & Melbourne... More

The best seafood between Sydney and the Queensland border. The food is all cooked while you wait and you can eat in the building of across the road on the banks of the river. The price is remarkable inexpensive also.

Nothing flash but Hook & Cook don't aim to be with the focus on great fish & chips. With plates warming in the oven at home phone ahead and order, then dash home and with a cool glass of white - enjoy. Or ... In summer get out the knives, forks and glasses and spread a linen tablecloth over the... More

My best friend and I had amazing fish and chips at Hook and Cook back in March. This will go onto our Must Do list for our regular Tea Gardens visits.

Drove past and recognised it as the place we bought from 10 year ago. Ordered 2 x flathead and chips ($15 each) and waited around 15 minutes. I thought it was ok (not good, but just ok) … my wife thought the flathead had a strong smell and the chips were cold and not crisp. I might try them again... More

We had a meal from here on Good Friday and although very busy, staff were fantastic, helpful and didn't make you feel rushed. The meal was cooked to perfection, no greasy fish and chip joint here. My vegetarian friend enjoyed the veggie dim sims which looked a smelt delicious. She stated that they were the best she had ever had.... More

Well after a beautiful day in tea gardens we decided to have food from this place. Not only was the food highly priced but the food tasted like it was days old, the chips were dry, old and cold. I was tempted to go back and ask for new chips however I decided to cut my losses. The burgers were... More
