My husband and I went here for dinner during our 20th anniversary getaway where we stayed a few nights at Lilianfels (just a very short walk across the road). We had booked a month in advance and were so happy to be seated at a window table overlooking the most incredibly stunning view of the valley below!!! The waiters were... More

In my experience often a restaurant with a good view overly relies on the view rather than the quality of the food and service for patronage. This is not the case with Echoes. The view was beautiful but the food stands alone, wonderful, accompanied by attentive service. In katoomba is is a must eat.

Apparently Lilianfels took this restaurant over not so long ago and we were looking for somewhere really nice to have dinner. The views are spectacular. For the amount of money we spent on a 3 course meal and alcohol we found the food was great not fantastic and the service was good not great.

The food was excellent, service was very good. The maitre d' was very courteous and welcoming. The meal was not cheap but it was a classy restaurant and we loved the whole dining experience.

We ate here as a couple and were a little underwhelmed. The view is amazing, the entrees were very good and the service was superb but the meals are very expensive, quite small and the main was a little dull. This is a one time experience for us as I think there are better options for a much more reasonable... More

Nice food but... Trying to feed us in 40 mins was plain wrong. Main turned up within 2 mins of entree finishing. I sent it back on hold. This is NOT fine dining etiquette. We couldn't be seated in main patio, fair enough but we were seated in a room with a party of 12, 2 very young kids and... More

Have eaten here on two occasions and can thoroughly recommend. Although not as good as its sister establishment -- Darleys -- still not to be missed.

Definitely not worth the $115 for the 3 course menu, we felt the food had a pub bistro like quality to it. The stand out course was definitely the desserts, we loved those. Very attentive service, and the views are second to none. Probably wouldn't eat there again, not for dinner anyway, perhaps lunch on a sunny day.

I was taken to Echoes Restaurant by visiting American friends for my birthday dinner. The terrace was busy so we chose to sit inside so we could talk over our meal. The decor is smart and our waiter was most efficient. I had two entrees as I had endured dental work that day and wanted something on the soft side:... More

Echoes has a enviable location on the edge of the escarpment and if you're lucky enough the views are fabulous. Service is friendly and efficient from the mainly young staff who seemed to be looking after all diners satisfactorily throughout the evening. The menu is relatively limited offering only five entres and five main courses. Price is $85 for 2... More
