Legion Club is very similar to my local RSL or surf club. Easy and cheap meals. Nothing flash but who needs that if you have a view of Coogee Beach. This would be the perfect place to enjoy the view, have a cheap feed and...More
Our dinner experience wasn't great, but the place is worth a visit (take an ID with you). Bisque was dramatic, more like a tomato sauce with fish in it. Fisherman's basket has a lot of items in it, rather indifferently deep fried. Go there for...More
New chef, lovely food and stunning view. Great value for money. If you join the club you receive discounts on food and alcohol. The balcony is lovely even on a wet afternoon and the food is excellent for the price. Big servings, great choice of...More
Had a lovely meal on the balcony with sensational views. The oysters were fresh and the lobster cooked to perfection. All washed down with a nice bottle of white wine. Overall well priced for what you get, which is good food, nice wines, good service,...More
Called in for dinner, what a lovely place, the food was great and the steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. Has a great view of the beach from the balcony. Only a small club but very nice with great staff.
We tried this place for the first time. We had to sign in as visitors and we where made very welcome. So for our two nights stay in Coogee we ate here both nights. Pre afternoon drinks on the deck then dinner in the comfortable...More
We stayed in Coogee for one night for a medical appointment. We wandered into the Legion Club and decided to stay for dinner. We sat in a covered verandah with views of the street outside and the evening ocean beyond. The food was wonderful, oysters...More
You won't get much better value for money in Coogee - or Sydney for that matter - and it comes with a balcony view that's just as good. The welcome is warm, the ambience cool and comfy, and the food is as tasty and reasonably...More
We have visited the Legion Club plenty of times as my family live in the area. Each time we have been we've found the place to have lots of friendly locals and some who don't mind having a chat after a few beers! We haven't...More
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity
footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
