This place used to be the go to Thai in Coolum beach, and there are a few to choose from, but do yourselves a favour and pick one of the others. The food is slop, you don't get what you ask for, it's over priced, service by the older male waiter is questionable, an absolute waist of money, and being... More

Went for a quick tasty lunch - targets achieved :) My wife is Chinese Singaporean and I have lived in Asia since 99 - hence we are quite the snobs when it comes to what folks in Australia call "Authentic Asian Food" Hot Chili Bean was formally around the corner and the very first Thai in the area, I've always... Enjoyed our lunch, was proactively offered free cooled tap water which is all we wanted. Pad ghaprow was the best dish. Really spicy with a fried egg thrown in. Phad Thai was authentic Satay chicken was tasty and a good amount of chicken Side of chips was apparently very good according to our kids. Green curry was slightly disappointing, not... More

I've always thought it only fair to try different restaurants on the Sunny Coast and because there are so many great places we have a good range, every now and then a real gem pops up. We had been to the airport and had called to say hi to friends and decided we would have something to eat. The sign... More

Thoroughly enjoyed a take away meal of Stir Fried Vegetarian and returned the next evening to dine at the restaurant. The Special Stir Fried seafood (prawns, calamari, fish and scallops) was excellent for taste, texture and quantity.

During our holiday decided to treat ourselves to Thai. The chicken fried rice - dried stringy bits of chicken,no egg or peas as stated on the menu . Very tasteless gluggy rice with bits of tomato in it? Hokkein Noodles with chicken, - same stringy dry chicken and very little flavour but it seemed to be mostly onion - one... More

We arrived just before several other customers. While our starters arrived soon enough the mains were slow to appear as other orders were delivered first. This has to be expected on a shoulder season day at the lunch peak. All mains were very tasty - Pad Thai, Green Curry and Coconut Prawns.

Our large party have been eating at 'Chilli Bean' regularly for the last 10+ years. New owners came in late 2014. Fine when she took over but not now. We booked for a large table of 12 guests (4 days prior). When we arrived our table had been given away so they had to be asked to move (including taking... More

Its a lunch special on purpose! You only get half the meal... So you could call it an appetizer!!!! Only a few small coconut prawns and some lettuce. Definitely NOT value for money here. Don't bother for lunch.

If you want to eat authentic Thai food, freshly prepared, beautifully spiced and provided at a very affordable price, with a lovely friendly service, this is your place. We had lunch at Hot Chilli Bean whilst in Coolum and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The portion sizes are also very generous. I highly recommend. They serve dinner too and I believe... More
