I have just returned from The Three Horseshoes, it was great, end of June, cold, wet and windy and the Landlord had the good sense to light the fire in the bar.........lovely. A few pints of Veltins, a glass of wine a very good beef burger and a ploughman's, not to mention bottled water and a decent coffee, all in... More

We came here for a small family celebration, the general layout of the Inn is ok all be it lacks in atmosphere. The food is good and we did like the difference and variety. The service however was lacking and did not match up to the quality you would expect, at best it was slap dash. Did we leave a... More

We visited as a group of 4 and had a lovely evening meal - good mains although the portions could have been a little more generous and the brisket a little dry - excellent puddings. Nice sitting out area and friendly staff

Group of friends visit regularly for food or drink. Ales always excellent. Bar staff good. Manager friendly. However in the last six months the food has noticeably dropped in portion size and quality. £12 for a burger and chips is pricey especially when the kitchens runs out of salad and doesn't tell anyone. My friend had the couscous salad except... More

My wife and I had dinner there. It is a lovely old pub, very friendly and great service. However the food was rather average. The cottage pie was made with good quality meat but was a little bland, as was the fish pie. The seasonal berry fool was tasty. There is a good choice of local real ales.

This place is a hidden gem. It's well worth making the effort to find Batcombe, 5 or so miles from Evercreech near Shepton Mallet. Roaring log fires, choice of 4 local reel ales, superb food. What's not to like. We each had a sandwich and a pork pie with home made pickles to share. The sandwiches are huge, and are... More

Popped in here in a whim really exploring the area. Lovely pub in a lovely location. The kids, who are small and a bit crazy, were welcomed. Service excellent and food too notch. Will be returning.

Yesterday's Sunday Telegraph placed The Three Horseshoes in the top 30 pubs in the Country. We visited for lunch today and enjoyed the small but interesting lunch menu. The pub was busy for a Monday lunchtime with many locals and visitors. We enjoyed the fish pie with a small but interesting selection of fresh vegetables and a sticky date pudding... More
