Driving from Okiato ferry landing, Omata is on the left. Continue a couple of km down a driveway and you will recognise it because of the sea view. We've had a pre wedding celebration here three years ago and have just returned for an anniversary. The Pinot was aromatic and the seafood and meat platters interesting. At $100 for a... More

Been a while since we have been at Omaha Estate Vineyard. Had a birthday lunch. The platters were generous and well priced. the hospitality superb and the friendly staff were fantastic. All of that would have made for a high rating but the add the stunning views over the vines and bay, the lovely brick floors in the cafe and... More

The Omata Estate is tucked away down a long driveway but well worth the effort. With a gorgeous outdoor eating area looking out across the Bay, it's easy to stay on and enjoy the hospitality. We enjoyed beautiful wines with a lunchtime Mediterranean platter. Service was friendly and personable and Molly, the resident black lab, adds to the lovely laid... More

Headed out her with one of our children for a slightly adult offering on the recommendation of a local. Stunning setting. Started with the informative wine tasting. Not a drop of sauv blanc on site. What a treat. Superb Pinot Gris, rose and Chardonnay. Followed by delicious thin and crispy wood fired pizzas with a few glasses of the Pinot... More

Driving up and up from the main road, we wondered what we were getting into - but our visit was as close to the heavens as we could imagine. Friendly tasting (with sweet and behaved dog) and then an exquisite "tasting platter" on the deck, grape vines hanging overhead, and a view of a wine-lovers' paradise.

I work in the wine business in CA, and this winery experience was breathtaking. We sat outside with a perfect view of the vines and the bay, did the wine tasting before lunch, where the viticulturist was knowledgeable about the wines, the wine making process, which made tasting the delicious wines even better. The lunch itself was yummy too. There... More

Amazing setting, rustic atmosphere kitchen seating is amongst the vines, looking out over the ocean. We enjoyed a glass of wine and a pizza - the woodfired pizza was delicious. Staff very friendly would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We visited out of season so this is a review of the wine tasting experience, not the food. The location is idyllic, facing north with a beautiful view over the grapevines to the water and islands beyond. The winemaker Bruce is a chatty and informative host and we bonded with the winery dog Molly. There is a sensible system of... More

We were lucky enough to be the only 2 people there so got a private tasting from the viticulturist himself! He took the time out from tending the vines and training his apprentice to give us a tasting of their selection of wines and give us some info about the history of the property. The wines were lovely and we... More
