Should be rated higher in my view. We eat at vineyards often at lunch. I loved the understated ambience of this vineyard. They have not crowded the tables which id so refreshing . You feel a sense of the setting..many other vineyard restaurants could learn from this!!!. Views are super. Three simple platters and lunch only but that too is... More

Amazing views after the long road from the main 'ferry' route to Russell. Had a tasting and platter...bought Pinot Gris to take away. Enjoyed the pleasant relaxed feel although got the feeling this place was running on a budget. There could be so much more done to it to make it outstanding but it's almost as if the budget's not... We arrived late Sunday afternoon and spotted the host locking up, without missing a beat he unlocked the building and let us in for tasting. What a pleasure it was to meet our host, Daniel. He gave us some great tips only locals knew about and we grabbed ourselves some tasty wines for our extended stay!!

Set on a beautiful spot, we enjoyed a wine tasting and tasting plate at Omata Estate while looking over the bay. The tasting plate (food) was good value, with plenty of cheese, salmon and mussels, and the cost of the wine tasting was subtracted from any eventual purchase.

My husband chose to invite friends to Omata Estate for his birthday for a lunch of cheese, breads and wine. very tasty, good service, informal attire and they had their own wines produced on the estate.Enjoyed by all.We did book as they are often booked out.

A fantastic stop on your way into or out of Russell, enjoy a beautiful glass of wine with a wonderful view over the vines and water. The antipasto platters are consistently great

We stopped by Omata Estate after lunch whilst exploring Russell. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly resident black Labrador: Molly, she promptly led us towards the restaurant and we had a wine tasting for two. The view over the vineyard and the bay was amazing and the Port and the Pinot Gris was absolutely delicious we had... More

Tasty Syrahs here, the Port was also very, very nice. The tasting was a perfect option with their platter, although while tasting it would have been nice to know at tasting that the Port was no longer sold. We were very disappointed to find out that we could no longer buy any. Oh well, bought an extra Syrah to fill... More

We arrived here for lunch on a Monday and were immediately stunned by the spectacular views of the inlet. The vines were a few days from harvest and the outside eating area was slightly rustic, comfortable and relaxing. The staff member was delightful. The platter was good and the wines very acceptable. The entire experience was relaxed, enjoyable and spectacularly... More
