We fell for it unfortunately Food and service desidely average and no choice The old lady got chatting to us and next minute you are sitting down Saw several people fall for her charms Different matter once you are sitting down - she doesnt want to know you then! Go elsewhere! and resist the old lady out front!

We had two flat whites and a yummy passion fruit and custard muffin. Excellent vantage point overlooking the pretty wharf at Russell. Friendly service and great coffee!

The service was fantastic, the pumpkin soup was great as was the meat loaf. The view across the bay was amazing.

We had a lamb burger and a muffin, which came to $41 with coffees. The restaurant has a very nice outlook and the staff very attentive. It seemed to take forever to get my burger, maybe they had to find a lamb roaming about, but it was very tasty and (almost) worth the wait.

We last had lunch at The Wharf about 14 months ago and it was okay but nothing special. New ownership now and there is a distinct improvement. Although many might opt for the excellent, and more famous, Duke of Marlborough just along the street, The Wharf serves a really tasty and memorable lunch. We had a club sandwich and chowder.... We were there today with the family and it took 2 attempts to get a menu, then 10 mins later we finally got one. Then from there once we ordered it was 30 mins to receive our lunch with our 2 young boys going stir crazy. The Seafood Chowder was tasty but not worth the 40 mins it took to... More

While visiting The Bay of Islands in the north island of New Zealand, we decided to take a ferry to island of Russell as we await our boat tour to "Hole in the Rock". We were starving so we stopped into The Wharf and it was such a delight. The staff are international, very helpful and the menu is tapas... More
