Beef fillet tail for her, Kumara & Ricotta ravioli for me. Both excellent. A bottle of Rum Grove Chardonnay to share. Couldn't fit in our favorite dessert ever....Quay lime Pie. Doreen was in fine form and even some personal service from Steve. Always great.

We made a last minute booking and were so pleased we did. From the warm friendly greeting at the door, to the impeccable, delicious, food, this bistro needs to be added to everyone's 'to-do' list.

Having read most of the recent reviews I feel rather sad I have to give a review that is not all that good. My wife and I both had the fish which was good, however, the roast potatoes were just boiled and not roasted. The...vegetables were so under cooked it was hard to get a knife through them. When you go out for a meal and come back home thinking a professional chef should produce a meal better than you can cook at home you know you have wasted your money when he fails to do so. You should at least know what a roast potato is.More

I went for dinner with a group of 4 friends to celebrate a birthday. 3 of the party are vegetarian and we requested beforehand if extra vegetarian meals could be added to the menu. This was done. The meals were delicious, the service excellent. We...had a lovely evening and would definitely go here again.More

Again they didn't disappoint, the seafood was exquisite. This was our wedding anniversary and the setting couldn't of been better. Everything was just perfect.

Great start with attentive staff, lovely little dining room, that offers a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the perfect setting for an anniversary meal. And a beautiful meal it was, a good selection of snacks, entrees, mains and desserts. Along with a good selection of drinks....My wife had Duck and I the lamb, both were very nice. Our deserts were outstanding. For the first time for quite some time we did not feel rushed to eat and leave for the next diners to be herded in. A wonderful experience that will see us return in the future.More

Probably the best meal we had in New Zealand, certainly the best we had on the South Island. The cocktails were great, as were the apps we shared. I had the lamb and boy was it tasty. Service was excellent.

Across the street from the bay, the views from upstairs are wonderful. This is an unpretentious restaurant, and the food is delicious. Wife’s a vegetarian, and had no problem finding great selections. The fish is of course fresh and wonderful. I’d come back if I...had more time.More

Hi Jenny Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately we are closed Christmas Evening. We would recommend the Boatshed Cafe which is across the road from us.
