The Morri Cafe has been established in Nelson for a number of years and everytime i go back it impresses. IT has a range of food options from menu to cabinet food and a range of seating for individual to large group, indoor and outdoor. Foods tend to be on the healthy side and have options for gluten free. My... More

Visiting from Auckland for the weekend, we were keen to have a tasty cafe style breakfast in Nelson. A friend had recommended that we check out Morri Street and so we did - the food was excellent. We ordered an eggs Benedict, banana/bacon pancakes and spiced chai porridge (the first morning). All 3 meals were delicious - lovely presentation and... More

Morri Street Cafe is excellent. In fact we came here yesterday and were so impressed we tried to return today but there was a long wait for a table so reluctantly went elsewhere. Food, coffee, service, decor, and ambience all excellent. Highly recommended.

Breakfast ordered the apparently famous bacon and eggs, got eggs drowned in hollandaise, bacon and no greens or acid on the plate to cut through the rich sauce. When questioned the waitress was not helpful. I love hollandaise but this would have to be seen to be believed! Coffee was ok.

Went for a breakfast on Sunday morning and chose the full breakfast. Hate to write a negative review but our table was pretty unanimous with the verdict- very poor. The bacon was saltier than the sea, the sausage cold, beans were as hard as bullets. Not good guys- another in our party ordered huevos rancheros and it was flat cold-... More

Fantastic food and some of Nelson's very best coffee. Great service. Can be hard to get a seat on weekends.

I have in the past reccommended this cafe to friends but this time the service was not up to our standard. Spilt coffee with no acknowledgement from the staff member and food that did not turn up with the coffee because he had forgotten to bring It to our table . Consequently we tried somewhere else the next time...

Great coffee, had breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea there, went back over the weekend as other places did not appeal.

Had breakfast here once during our stay and while the food was okay, the service could use a little work. It had a vibe like regulars come here often and they were confused by us weird foreigners coming and ordering more than one flat white! :) The outside dining area was very peaceful though and I probably would return here... Multiple Winner of Best Cafe in Nelson. Bright, busy cafe in an historic building in central Nelson. Strong following of loyal locals but plenty to entice visitors as well. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on fresh, natural flavours that build on a number of ethnic cuisine styles. Our breakfasts have a large fan base with favourites like the Bacon & Eggs and our Pancakes staying on the menu year after year. Lunch includes fresh Salad Bowls, tasty Chicken Satay and the ever popular Pad Thai. There's plenty of fresh baking each day, a healthy kids menu and our coffee is excellent. There are lots of options for wheat, gluten & dairy sensitive people and vegetarians as well.
