Fantastic lunch.Love their ethic.Totally solar powered. All local growers-suppliers.All leftover edible food donated to foodbanks and whats not donatable makes a pigs day. They have been here for 20 years so they know their business.Pity they are not in Rotorua. They would be among the best in Eat Streat.Cheers.

If you're after cafe style food then this place is a must. Being a Malaysian, I was curious about "Nasi Lemak" which is on the menu. My only recommendation would be to have two eggs instead of one. Nevertheless, coffee was good too.

this WAS my go-to cafe when home in Nelson. I'd always recommend to friends visiting, because they had the magic combo; great service & great food. menu has changed as has the head chef, and it's disappointing. it lacks the freshness & flare Morrison St Cafe used to consistently execute with each visit. can't say i could recommend this place... I love this place, great atmosphere and staff. However I after being disappointed in having a allergic reaction the first time I went, I thought I'd give it another shot. I told the lady serving us that I have coeliac disease and to please notify the chef of this. That was all fine, meal was great but I have been... More

Hi Jen, thanks for taking the time to write this review. Firstly, let me assure you that we do take all allergies and dietary requirements very seriously. The head chef has taken great lengths to ensure the menu is correctly labelled, and we feel that as a cafe we offer quite a good range of diet specific options, including gluten... More

Popped in for a coffee and slice. Went for the sunny patio, and because it still has a good reputation. Long Black + Lemon Slice = $8.30. Expensive but ok if it's good quality. Unfortunately my Long Black arrived with no crema (a cardinal sin in serving this barista) and was pretty tasteless. How other baristas can be happy to... More

Hi Pete, thanks for taking the time to review us. We're really disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy your visit, especially with your choice of coffee and slice! We normally have great feedback on our lemon slice, so it's a shame you didn't get the best we offer. We also pride ourselves on outstanding coffee, and our highly experienced baristas... More

We were looking for a place to have breakfast and found this one. It opens early and has lots of choice to eat. I had Italian style eggs, and that tasted so good!

One of the best places for sunday brunch. Lots of delicious food on the menu, I love the use of local and fresh ingredients. Will highly recommend the mushroom crepe and the italian baked eggs for brunch. The only thing that needs improving is a more friendly service.

Description
Multiple Winner of Best Cafe in Nelson. Bright, busy cafe in an historic building in central Nelson. Strong following of loyal locals but plenty to entice visitors as well. The menu changes seasonally and focuses on fresh, natural flavours that build on a number of ethnic cuisine styles. Our breakfasts have a large fan base with favourites like the Bacon & Eggs and our Pancakes staying on the menu year after year. Lunch includes fresh Salad Bowls, tasty Chicken Satay and the ever popular Pad Thai. There's plenty of fresh baking each day, a healthy kids menu and our coffee is excellent. There are lots of options for wheat, gluten & dairy sensitive people and vegetarians as well.
