A group of eight of us had a really good meal here. The service was a bit slow but that was probably as much our fault as their's as we were mixing starters and main courses. Wonderful galettes, better than some we've had in France. The menu is quite extensive with fish and meat dishes along with many galette/crêpe dishes.... More

Went here for Valentines Day Dinner - great food and service as usual - fish of the day superb! Have sampled many of the gallettes, great venue for vegetarians. All reasonably priced. Great wines too. Excellent staff too. My only very minor criticism would be they could do with expanding the bottled beer choice to include more local breweries and... More

A warm welcome and attentive service; this is a lovely relaxed French restaurant serving superb galettes and crepes during the day. Good wine and nice atmosphere - a favourite spot for us and our godchildren.

Great little French style bistro in the heart of Nelson. Coffee, French pastries, snacks and meals. One of our favourite local restaurants. Good for coffee or dinner. Local and French wines and cheese available. Nice decor too.

We dined here very early about 5pm and it was great. We started with the baked Camembert and it was amazing and perfectly goey. The nordict crepe was very fresh and filled with salmon and avocado. It was very flavoursome! The poulet was filled with chicken and very filling. The lady serving us was very nice even though we were... More

Very popular. Simple menu, but our dishes were all well cooked and delicious. Slow to be served but worth the wait.

The service in this little sympathetic restaurant is attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and authentic French cuisine at its best. As a shared starter we've enjoyed NZ beef carpaccio served with shaved Italian Parmesan, rocket and fried capers ($ 10.00) and as tasteful mains lamb fillet rolled into potatoes and kumara rösti served with beautifully fresh sauted vegies... Came to La Gourmandise to celebrate a milestone birthday, on the last night of our summer vacation in the Mainland. The food and service at La Gourmandise proved to be the perfect finish to our vacation, leaving a wonderful memory. Thank you to all the staff!
