Was here in early November as it was highly recommended by our great hosts at the Austin Heights B&B. They knew what they were talking about! Great seafood grill. Amazing scallops and tasty crayfish. We also had scallops and the seafood chowder. All were great. It is not cheap but you are getting a nice meal with quality products. You... More

If you like fresh seafood, prepared simply on the BBQ hotplate for a reasonable price; get yourself here! I [personally go for the seafood smokey chowder, plus a side of paua (abalone fritter) or grilled mussels or whitebait fritters (in season) or crayfish or scallops etc etc Well, you get the picture...

We were visiting Kaikoura because of the whale watching. From our tour guide we knew this place is well known for great crayfish. Because we tried our trip to make very low cost but we wanted to try this delicacy, somebody from the whale crew recommended us this awesome place. It was very crowded there, but it was very quick.... More

After finding myself wandering around Kiakoura and feeling a bit peckish, saw this little gem on TripAdvisor. its a bit of a walk out of town but well worth it and the views are fantastic. i have never tried Crayfish before so i went for half of one and it was delicious. Also, looking at the menus in town, half... More

Great seafood patties and the garlic scallops were to die for - lovely ladies behind the counter were wonderful - and the price was amazing, not like home, with your seafood patty you get 2 slices of bread with salad, and rice if you want for the amazing low price

Skip the restaurants, get your crayfish here. It's half the price and better. We had crayfish the night before in one of the fancy restaurants in Kaikoura and were disappointed. We came here the next day and had better crayfish at half the price.

Fast food and seafood only. Paua was chopped and about a teaspoon surrounded by omelette. Whitebait patty was OK. The salmon is what we should have had. All is oil fried. Worth a snack stop but not a trip for a real meal.

Nice food at an outdoor kiosk located along the Kaikoura Peninsula Walk. Great for a quick meal but watch out for the seagulls! Crayfish wasn't cheap - but it's pretty much the same place throughout Kaikoura.

Well worth a stop if you're hungry and want a super casual meal. This iconic kiosk didn't disappoint with a cup of seafood chowder and garlic clams. The seafood was so fresh and cooked quickly. Obviously not the place you would go in your best gear for a fancy dinner, but if you like fresh, real seafood with no fuss... More
