I had lamb shanks a huge meal with lovely vegetables. My hubbie enjoyed half lobster. The staff were friendly and efficient. We did have a loud birthday party group next to us but that can happen anywhere. Good view especially if you can get beside a window. Best to reserve seating if you can as it is very popular but... We really liked our food here. Seafood chowder was good but not the best but the fresh catch pan seated was great. Nice view as well.

This was the second time we had dined at The Pier and both times we reserved a window table. The first visit was cloudy but still a lovely view across the bay. The food was really good and service was friendly, attentive and relaxing, the young man serving recommended an excellent wine, so we decided to spend the last evening... More

Our motel hosts recommended the place and for good reason. Lovely old Kiwi hotel with seaviews. Food was superb and not too pricy. We shared their antipasto (ample for two and very nice) followed by seafood chowder and greenlipped mussels. Very nice meal. Also had a side salad that was instantly eatable, eg not with huge pieces of lettuce and... More

We had chowder and the special fish dish and it was of a high standard. Not the cheapest place but worth it. Atmospheric old Inn setting.

What a find! Fantastic view, fantastic menu and fantastic service - what else could you ask for? Although there was a sign saying reservations essential we were still able to walk in and get a table for two. Despite the number of diners the service was friendly and fast.

This was a return visit to the Pier Hotel. The restaurant is nicely appointed, modern and very clean. Staff were very helpful and attentive - and busy! Food was good, not the best breads and dips I've tasted and crayfish was ever so slightly overcooked but still very delicious. A nice meal.
