The site is superb and undoubtedly the best outlook in Kaikoura, with panoramic vistas of the Kaikoura Ranges and sweeping views of Ingals' Bay from the bar and restaurant. Come and see for yourself. We are open for lunch and dinner every day so come on in and have a beer, try our menu (with fabulous desserts) made fresh each day. We would love to see you! Reservations advised for evening dining.

The Pier Hotel restaurant is a great place to eat with a good menu and wine list.
Great staff and will pick up at your motel if required.
The only thing that let it down was fries severed with whitebait. Whitebait and salad great but...chips were a disgrace. They looked like they had been done to death in the frier for some time.More
Our Motel recommended this establishment and we weren't disappointed. We were picked up from the motel free of charge so we're able to have a couple of wines from a good wine list. The meal was superb, very fresh fish which was expected from a...town like Kaikoura, The Crayfish dish I had was top class, simply delicious.More
One night stay, and we know we will return. Lovely old NZ country hotel, great staff. We were collected from Kaikoura town and taken to the hotel free of charge, and booked in for dinner on advice from staff. This is great advice as the...restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday night, more patrons than I suspect restaurants in larger townships would have midweek. The food is amazing. Bed was so comfortable, and the atmosphere is country comfortable, highly recomend for those who enjoy non corporate style hotelsMore
