This is a lovely place to have dinner in Greymouth. We had pork belly and mushroom risotto and both were really good. There is a large fireplace in the middle of the restaurant that gives the place a special charm.

We decided to go here for evening meal after seeing when we were at train station. There was a long wait for food but staff did pre warn us of this. The food was nice. What we all had was fresh, hot and tasty, washed...down with a nice drink.More
Grabbed coffee before the Tranzalpine departed and found staff welcoming and great service. Go there if you can!
Called in for drink. Very warm welcome by staff on entry. Cosy fire. Different seating areas. A great place. Didn't eat here but great menu available
I thought I’d give Speights Ale House a try as the reviews read well. I was NOT disappointed. I was greeted with a smile and a menu immediately. When I asked about what beer to pair with my choice of dinner, the recommendation was made...along with a sample to try before I committed. It was absolutely perfect. I chose the Mushroom Risotto which came out piping hot and obviously made fresh. This was one of the best risottos I’ve had in a while. Flavourful, creamy and full of mushrooms. Paired with a Summit Lager, a light and refreshing drink. Simply stunning. Great team, great service and great food! I will be back.More
Good menu, good beers, easy dining experience. Would happily eat there again. Bit pricey but you get that at breweries..
Stopped for dinner when we saw the sign offering whitebait. Nice service and good drinks. Plenty of whitebait in the patties served with chips and salad and the blue cod was cooked well and tasty. 2 dirnks and 2 mains for $95 is getting up...in price, even for upmarket pub grub - food great but overpirced.More
We popped in here before our trip on the Tranz Alpine to Christchurch. It is across the road from the railway station so very convienient. The service and food were great.
Beautiful restaurant , awesome food presentation, attentive staff . Food was delicious (especially steak and desserts). Really enjoyed this place for dinner
Friendly staff and good food. Fast service for a pub and nice relax. We order a shared platter which we all enjoyed, Kumera Chips and Chicken wings were so yummy. We asked to take leftovers with us, and there was no hassle to do so.
