My pursuit of good Gluten free food was certainly met here at the Killer Prawn. We were greeted and tabled by a very welcoming lady. water and menus were quickly presented. Great decorations, trees lights, solid tables and chairs. An air of calm filled the room. Good menu, seafood as well as the usual meats. I had the chicken my... More

Have visited previously and had an extremely enjoyable experience. Sadly, not this time. Upstairs at Killer Pizza a large group of us froze our butts off as the staff would only turn on one heater and had an absolute fit when we opened the door to let some of the heat from downstairs in. Service was slow and surly and... More

My husband and I took our friend out to celebrate her birthday and killer prawn was where she requested to eat. We had heard nothing but good things about the place and upon viewing their menu we thought we were in for a treat! We were sorely disappointed. We made an online reservation and turned up to the restaurant on... More

Ordered a steak sammie from the Express Menu.....it was basically fat on bread with some mushrooms drizzled over it.

This is a great bar with the best bartender in town. His Yucatan Jungle Juice is lethal! The place changed ownership over a year ago but has very much kept the same already established style and formula going. I find the food always has been a bit hit and miss, which considering the prices is a bit disappointing. So if... More

I visited the Killer a Prawn with a work colleague in May 2016. The decor was nice, the service was excellent and most importantly the seafood was Devine.

Did not enjoy the food at all. Average at best. To expensive for what it is. Was guttered as had high expectation.

Went there while out of town for business. Fantastic service and just like the name says, killer prawns! Locals call it killer price which is true but it is tasty!

The Killer Pawn never disappoints us - I always want everything on the menu and I always enjoy my meal. And they know how to make martinis. You'd be surprised how many restaurants and pubs have no idea. People comment that it can be a bit of a man's domain. It is - but whatever, as long as the food... More

Visited here twice in one week, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was delicious both visits. Service was friendly and fast, even though both times we arrived without a booking. Definitely recommend this place for great seafood and friendly service whilst in Whangarei!
