We discovered this restaurant by chance, opposite the Opera House, but not on the main street. Food had to be ordered at the counter and paid for, and the meals would be served to the table. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. We had a roast beef special and a hot pawns salad. Both meals were plentiful... More

Meals (although basic, but a good range to choose from) were of excellent quality and a very good price and with quick service by well mannered staff. Bar staff were happy and gave good service.

Huge meals, good menu. We had a lovely meal here. I had lamb shanks off the specials board and my hubby had the schnitzel. Both with vegetables. We couldn't eat it all there was so much food. The only thing that let it down slightly was it wasn't warm inside the place. Needs to be heated a bit more. Staff... More

Good value meal very well prepared in a historic building bit old fashioned now but I would go back so I would recommend for a good meal that is about value and taste and not worried about flare and presentation

If you want a lot of food for not much money then the Brickhouse is the place to go. if you are looking for refined dining, then this is not your place. My meal came with all three carbs - rice, chips and potato and plenty of other veges aside. We certainly did not go hungry. The alcohol was very... More

Very bland meal but a good size portion. And price is definitely an attraction. The older people like eating here.

I found the food to be tasteless and very underwhelming. Our entree of chicken nibbles had clearly been cooked earlier and reheated to luke warm. We had maple glazed pork and pork roast for dinner, both were overcooked and tasteless. We were very disappointed. The only positive was the staff were friendly.

This place is in an older building with lots of character. Ordering is done near the entrance at the counter, then a table to be found. We ordered the grilled haloumi salad and fish & chips (photos provided), both of which were delicious. This was our 2nd visit to the establishment and quality was consistent. The battered fish was piping... More

The Brickhouse is an ideal place to take all the family for an enjoyable meal. The menu caters for most tastes, and for many the "Small Meal" is a particularly good option. Good atmosphere, quick and friendly service, and very competitive prices.
