Went to this restaurant with a group of business colleagues for dinner. Everyone's meal came except mine, checked if it was coming, advised it was. Everyone finished their mains ordered dessert still no main for me. Checked again " yes it is still coming". One hour 50 mins later it arrived after everyone else had finished mains and desserts. Shocking... More

Looking for a quick dinner last night having returned from Auckland and nothing out of the freezer to cook. The Brian Boru is on the edge of the shopping area and so there was a choice of car parks outside the establishment. I choose a "Moroccan" Lamb Pizza - It was stunning and larger than I could handle. My wife... More

In spite of there being a presentation on electric cars in the pub the owner was very welcoming and accommodating. The food and service were very good.

Historic this place may be, in which case it is long past its heyday. Presumably it is supposed to be atmospheric but in that case the owners are sadly mistaken. Dark, uninviting, non too clean, tatty menu, hopeless staff. We stayed for the time it took to swallow half a glass of beer for which the Indian barman charged us... More

Stopped for a brief lunch passing through Thames. Chicken and mushroom pies very tasty and meaty served with a mixed green salad garnish. NZD $ 8.50.

We chose this cafe/bar as travellers, interesting surroundings with a lovely wood heater burning. Ordered prawn and scallop salad. Was beautiful. (Bit over salted), only criticism. Partner ordered big breakfast with mushrooms, delicious and generous servings. Waiter was very friendly and good service. This gem of a place is well worth visiting.

Having been invited to a 'Bollywood' evening here at $45 a head, our expectations were obviously higher than that received. Crammed in, then seated at a grubby table on really uncomfortable seats, we were confronted by a plastic (picnicware) dish of Indian trail mix. Well, at least I thought it was made of the trail. The 'Bollywood' saga then began... More

We were there for a late breakfast. Nice food and surroundings. Old pub with cafe inside. There was a wood-fired stove lit which was nice on a rainy day. Service was fine.

Enjoyed a great breakfast at reasonable cost amid the interesting mining artifacts. Service was pleasant and efficient.
