We were at the restaurant for a quick pre-theatre meal, as were many others present. Service is swift and friendly and it appears best to book beforehand, which we did. Food includes many old favourites, which are competently executed, as well as daily specials. On the day we had the special crispy duck as one of our choices and it... More

The food is tasty, the service is fast and the prices are "real". Recommend the soft shell crab salad, the beef rendang (ordered every time we go there) and the coconut pancakes. The place has a busy, buzzy feel to it and now that they take bookings - even better!

Chinta Ria Soul has been one of favourite restaurants in St Kilda for a long as I can remember. The laksas are simply brilliant (in fact we know people who travel from Mornington to eat laksa here!); the prawns in curry leaves are to die for; and our "must haves" - gado gado, roti curry and roti with peanut sauce... An interesting menu which can lead to either a splurge or be quite reasonable. The flavours were more subtle than in your face and I was tempted to ask for a bit of chilli but didn't like to insult the chef! Service good although ambience a bit noisy. Like to go back and explore the menu a bit before making... More

Read many reviews about this place and thought of giving it a second try. Met a friend over lunch here. The waitress was quite grumpy. Didn't bother to even provide us with water after much later. Noticed other people who walked in had water served immediately. Ordered a crispy noodle with beef, nasi lemak with friend egg, spinach belacan, and... More

Always go to this eatery before a show at the Palais and it has never let me down. Tasty dishes, tried a set menu last night with 5 of us it was wonderful. All of us were happy with the variety of the selection of dishes and delicious flavours.

Gloriously, richly flavored Malaysian food in an intimate close tabled setting with friendly, really lovely staff.. Second to last visit the owner maître di-ess said no you've ordered too much for 2 people.. How often does that happen!.. The duck special is absolutely sublime!.. And the gado gado the best ever!

As a Malaysian native, I was excited to dine at this restaurant. I am a casual chef at home and would often whip up laksa, nasi goreng, satay and yam abacus etc. in a bid to appease those hunger pangs. I walked into China Ria without any reservations made and the wait staff was kind enough to ask me which... More

My coworker from Malaysia met me here for dinner - He's a regular when he visits from his home country. I had an outstanding noodle dish at a really good price. Quick, friendly service means I will return.

Very busy Restrurant based in Acland street . It is fully licensed but you may bring your own wine . The Restrurant is busy and loud as there is quite a lot of tables fitted into a small area . This Restrurant pulls it off and has a great buss and feel to it . The staff are hard workers... More
